Have not seen too much of North only basically the opening world cup games and some highlights.

From what i have read around this forum, the guy is c@$p, then when i finally actually get to see him play to my surprise the kid is actually pretty good.

I see a great future for him, the sky is the limit. He seems to be a strong runner, good strong defence, very good pace, good size and he's just a baby.

If only England had a Mike Catt to run over a few times in a World cup semi final.

Best young prospect i have seen at the world cup tbh.

Em....I don't know where you saw people saying that he's C-at-doller-p, because the Welsh guys lurve him...

Yeah he did a great job on defence against Samoa, Tuilagi was basically invisible until he started popping up in midfield.

I've never heard anyone have anything bad to say about North, let alone that he's casp

That wasn't down to north as an individual though. Wales were doing a great rob of the old rushing umbrella defense and not letting the ball get to 13. Tuilagi only got involved once he realised he had to come infield to get the ball

Haven't seen anyone think he's crap, as long as he gets the ball he'll do well. 'The White Lomu' is the best analogy i've heard on here about him. haha

I have seen him called White lomu before, but it was followed by hahahahahhahhahahha

He was impressive, he's only a kid - haven't seen him at full pace this tournament. But he's definitely pretty tough - didn't shirk the heavy stuff when getting his hands on the ball.

Haha, just remember a few SA posters giving him grief. Made me think he was big and useless.
Probably because he scored twice against them on his debut.
You spelled his name wrong, BTW. Its GEORGE NOOOOOORRRRRRRTTTTTHHH.

It might be over-hype, but we don't know how good he's gonna turn out to be over the next few years. But i will say that i can see certain Lomu-isums in him.

Well, if you will listen to South Africa...

Giant prospect. In every sense of the word.

I've never heard a South African say anything bad about him
Most seem to like him, and were asking how he was progressing before the WC

Only thing I've ever seen an South African guy say against him way a bloke posting on here before the match we played against them last Novemeber (so Norths debut) saying something like 'Habana is going to burn that big mongrel' :p that totally happened...

He's a cracking player anyway, he's a natural finisher with bags of pace and strength, has a very clever rugby brain on him too if you ask me. Just look at Alun Wyn-Jones's try from the last WC warm up vs Argentina - For a 19 year old, North was incredibly composed and level headed to set up that try, especially for that final pass!

I'd love to see North on one wing and Harries on the other. Big ball carrier and little pacy lad. Halfpenny at 15 was a relief. Long term solution? I think Samoa made a big mistake targeting him.

Back on topic. Yep, North is a good young player with plenty of room to improve. As Thingimubob said, his try setup for AWJ was brilliant and seemed well beyond his years.

Of course he's good - he's a Gog. North by name and north in origin. ;)

So what tries has he scored that you can cpmpare to Jonah Lomu's?

Big and fast but nothing to put fear in the opposite team unless your Tasesa Lavea......

would rather see him left on the wing,so he can grow more confidence in that position.don't want to see him be treated like James Hook, unsure which position to use him!!
