and this is the most crucial pointOriginally posted by knowsleyroader+Jan 30 2006, 06:11 AM--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (knowsleyroader @ Jan 30 2006, 06:11 AM)</div><!--QuoteBegin-bman2112Pretty much yeah they do. Turnovers do seem to have some dependance of field position, in that the closer to the opposition line you are the higher it seems the chance of a turnover. [/b]@Jan 30 2006, 04:26 AM
The big question is this. Does the defending team ALWAYS turn over the ball when you're on their try line - that was fu**ing annoying last time round!! - Locks?
it made 2005 crap
have 10 mins of possession
to lose it in red zone attack
even if i used the forwards, you would lose the ball when near the try line - 1 pt to random, 0 pt to user
there is nothing new with 2006 except the pop ball, and new kicking dynamics.
thus we will need to exploit, these new adjustments to get the most out of this
again forward play will just expose the user to more risk of turnovers, when in reality using forwards SHOULD minimize the risk of a turnover....not in EA2006
Also i am starting to feel this game is going to be scripted
meaning we have 25 set plays...........which they want us to exploit
Well i like the set-play WE should NOT be confined to using the set-plays all the time, and i believe we are coz if u dont start a set-play quick enough u lose the ball at the breakdown
Set-play, tackle ruck
Set play tackle ruck
set play, tackle ruck
Seems as though they have forgotton about creative user play, with inside balls, or forward driving
Coz if we were to use forwards, i assume this means no set-plays (set-plays only using backs)
So forward drive, tackle ruck
forward drive, tackle ruck
forward drive, tackle ruck
now we enter the redzone...........and more forward play will result in a turnover, thus setplay time
yeah it sound like a reflection of real life, but i like to create my own variety, and i reckon this EA approach to encouraging set-plays ALL THE TIME, takes away the spontaneous factors of rugby..........i dont want madden
There's too many ways to lose the ball at the ruck, coz of EA programming, which results in turnovers, coz u havent utilised the EA feature....rugby should not play like that...........i should be beaten in rugby by a better opponent, with a good mix of all facets of rugby..........not beaten, by a set-play move, that the AI set an animation where my inside centre bought a dummy, and came inside, only to see the CPU auto-miss pass, to the winger, where my winger has already committed to the AI's animation of going for the intercept, and mssing leaving the CPU's winger wide open with line in front of him.
Do u wanna get beaten like Madden
or do u wanna get beaten like PES
Getting beat coz u picked the wrong defensive play, against 1 of the 24 set-play u can map, just aint Rugby video gaming...its Madden.
I'll still be getting, but not holding much hope, as the features that are new seem minimal, thus EA2005 with polished look and rosters.
Its all about the breakdown..........at the moment we watch them, not control them
