Fifa 11

Will get fifa11 in a week when i am on holidays,
then gaming bloodbath begins!!

well well the time has come, hours away for me. I'm extremely sad and i'm going to the midnight launch at game in cardiff :D :D so i shall be playing the game hopefully in less than 11 hours time :D :D hehehe :D should keep me occupied till RLL and then that till Rugby 2012 :D :D can't wait. Lets hope that wales are playable (which i highly doubt).... will have to make a team and put all the welsh guys on it i guess (including Ryan Giggs cause it would be unfair to leave him out :p ). :D :D

Thought mine might arrive today, as they often do with a preorder
However it's now been dispatched from Amazon :D Thank God my lectures don't start until monday

Lot of things ... apparently licensing was an issue although the FAW said that this is not the case ... but in truth it is.

It is similair to Holland

FIFA offered an amount to use their brand/name, Holland said "We want muir money!", to which FIFA replied, "Haha... **** off"

It took a while but indeed. Since Fifa 10 the national team of Holland is finally part of the game again!

I will never again by a game that rates Darren Mackie on par with James McFadden, the FIFA games could so easily be better done, especially consdering the resources they have at hand

One day, one day an IT jock shall arise to make awesome sports games.

First impressions are very positive, I love it!.

I see a lot of the people on the EA UK forums are not happy at all...the demo was well balalnced...then the game comes out and they immediately put out a patch speeding play up and bring back ping pong passing!

It is like EA at the last second changed their mind about a sim and decided to go even more into arcade.

I am thoroughly enjoying playing the demo....very good feel to it now that I am getting the hang of it.

Will just wait a bit to see how people are taking Fifa 11...if they don't put anymore patches out to fix it up I might buy the game and NOT install any patches...play the game disconnected.

I've been playing it and it feels a little different to the demo, but not mcuh. Ping pong passing would not get someone very far in this update as the defensive players mark very well along the ping pong lines. That means you have to try and give your potential pass players time to get into a better space for the pass. It's certainly animating faster than the demo, but sprinting in any wrong space or line will get you nowhere and the ball turned over.

I'd say this is still VERY sim-like compared to previous versions.

You're joking? I played the demo last night and felt it was excellent, if they've ruined it by going all Fifa 09 though I won't bother getting a copy - Especially as World Cup will only be a fiver now.

What they did is change the way the lower difficulties are working. I am playing at the highest level and the whole game is different. The 360' engine they are using is amazing! More and more this turns into a realistic game in stead of an arcade football game in which you can trick your way around defenders like PES.

What happened to the days of the postman coming at like 8am,
I've got to wait until about 11 until my copy arrives :(

Could well be right as I'm only playing on Professional. Didn't play the demo often enough to get any better than that.

Well, I understand they might tweak the lower difficulties a bit to sell more copies. If they import all the high-end characteristics into the beginner, medium and professional levels, some people might lose interest since it will be too difficult to play. However, the real FIFA gamers will only play at World Class level and they are the people who care the most about the latest features

I caved in and got a copy. Then again, it was free so I can't complain.

Whew...appeased my fears somewhat...Radman been texting me that the game isn't really pingy at all even with passing assisted...so I feel better now.

Back to the demo...will get the game in a month...give me all that time to practice full manual

Yes, well us "fake" gamers who play on professional and below are really enjoying the game too. :)
