Ewen Mckenzie resigns

I actually admire Joost more for those actions, life is short.
With Beale he sent an offensive text that was no worse than what 99% of males have said to their mates about a woman at some point in their lives, Shane Warne should have been booted out of international cricket for his off field demeanour but what good would that have done to the fan or the sport.

Beale didn't just send texts! He sent offensive pictures of a sexual nature, and believe it or not, there are actually laws against such behaviour!!

You might be a fan of Beale, but he's just one guy in a team sport. You might condone his actions, but it has had an effect on the team. And it's this part I think you don't get. One rotten apple affect the entire bag full of apples...

Beale is 25 freaking years old. Is it not a bit ridiculous that a coach should be expected to make adults behave like adults?

The media hounds McKenzie for not having control of the squad, but they also hound him for dropping Beale. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
I agree with that, the media are hounding both coaches and players out of the game.

Yeah agree. The NRC will cost the ARU a lot but they MUST persevere with it. Its needed. Explains the budget cuts to the Wallabies.

Isn't Fox funding the NRC entirely?

On EM I feel quite sorry for him, he had the, playing well the end of last season and against France so I think this is unfortunate, especially when you think injury and how many world class players are missing.

There is deffo some issues with ARU at the moment.

I don't condone his actions, I just don't see them as a news worthy topic or as something that should divide a sports team that is run by adults.

Then there is a problem. His actions sparked a ripple effect. His actions is news worthy, that is WHY it has been in the NEWS!! His actions has made the journalists, who write the NEWS, have opinionated reports on both speculations and facts. Society use the news to find out what is going on as human beings are curious creatures.

In the end, the reputable journalists, newspapers and whoever else will get the facts from the fiction, and it will show who is to blame and who isn't. When a person reaches adulthood he has to live with the actions he has done, and if it's bad, he has to pay for it, if it's good, he will be rewarded. And this is not just about karma, religion or whatever else, this is how life works.

I really don't know why it's so difficult to understand.

I would hardly say Beale should be banished from rugby because of his texts, Savea tickled up his missus I believe but he is still playing.

Savea was prosecuted, fined and served community service for his actions, and rightfully so... His actions were outside of the work environment, and dealt appropriately by the authorities.

Beale made insensitive and sexist comments in a work environment, he bullied and belittled a work colleague in front of his and her workmates.... The woman has now left their employment and has suffered equal abuse in the public eye, additionally the coach has been blamed and paid the price for trouble that started with Beale nearly 6 months ago.

Shocking.

Beale needs to be fired by the ARU, he has a history of offences, both abusive and violent, he doesn't deserve to play international rugby.

Jones won't leave Japan he is loving it there and has his eye on a big tornument for japan in 2019.

The return of Deans would be interesting.

WHo else isn't in the job ATM?

Mallett
na but seriously ARU can have Scott Johnston, na seriously you can have Scott Johnston

Nothing is difficult to understand, I just don't agree with your view point.

Everything seems wrong with Australian rugby except the talent.

The team, the media, many of the fans - Everything seems to show the worst in rugby. It is a shame, as you have immense talent in your nation. This was not McKenzie's fault.

Sad, but easy to see it was coming: first defeat for a power in the RC, great issues with discipline... in the other hand, very powerful rugby underneath all of that. I still believe he's a brilliant coach. I would like him to direct Argentina in the future if we can teach him spanish enough to say tacklear instead of tackle!

Wallabies need a head coach who respects the McKenzie's game plan, who can? I have no idea, but they should find someone and fast

Just read that Ewen McKenzie sent an email to Pulver at 10am this morning with his resignation attached. Pulver claims he tried to talk him out of it. You know someone like Beale , had he been in the ABs would have been banished long ago.

Really??? And what about Aaron Cruden? then I hope he doesn't return to the squad. I also remember the Zac Guildford incident. He didn't return to wear the black jersey because his level was very very poor and had a younger and better replacement than him in his position (Savea). If ABs had problems of depth in the left wing position and Zac had kept his best performance, then he probably would have returned to the ABs squad.

Jake White gonna get his prize? I can see him drop Tonga at a moment's notice. I can't see anyone else.. desperate enough to want the job at this stage.

First Deans, now McKenzie. They're both quality coaches who have not been treated fairly IMO. Its a tough job to have. Who is favourite now?

What a stone cold mess.
Aussie rugby is in disarray at the management level, and it's at a stage when McKenzie was turning it all around.
Tough times for the Aussie union fans.

Yeah, to be frank I'm more looking forward to the League 4N than the EYOT now... I'm done with this lot - just such a f##king disgrace. I'll bet you last nights ratings were record low levels too - which is a shame, because it was actually a great match.

The Game looks in deep trouble right now, and I am beginning to agree with Andrew Webster at the Herald that it's getting to the "complete basket case" point that soccer got itsefl here in the early 00s when the fed government and Frank Lowy had to bail soccer Australia out. The trouble is, even with all its private school boys rugby doesn't seem to have any billionaire mates in Australia like League, Australian Football, or soccer.

The Aussie players and management are as bad as each other Ewen resigning proves it. He's clearly had enough of all the bullcrap.
