EOYT: United States v Russia, 09/11/2012

I am impressed with the stream as well as how knowledgeable Chris Horsman is.

Robbie Shaw has been impressive at 9 for the US.

Yes, he made some good passes to L'Estrange. It has been a fun match to watch so far in the first half. Both sides have made unfortunate errors after long runs but at least they're keeping things competitive.

Some cracking skills on offer, really enjoying watching the game.

Fry has improved a ton. I know the Russian scrum isn't exactly the best in the world, but I can't remember the last time we got parity in the scrum, much less the upper hand.

I like the look of the Russian 9. In fact, I like all Russian 9s. They're quickly catching up on crisp sandwiches on my list of favourite things.

Shaw with another try ... USA starting to build some steam here.

... probably the last time you played Russia.

Russia's scrum is pants and is a laughing stock in the ENC up against the other Eastern European teams who routinely destroy it. I wouldn't get carried away at getting the upperhand on them.

Nope, even they had the upper hand at the RWC against us. And they have better props playing today than they did in that match.

Great hands there for Shaw's 2nd try!

Yellow card for Russia's 9 for not being back 10 and trying to take Shaw out early.

The Eagles look sharp. Really enjoying the fact they are playing well and the fact that I am watching this when I should be working!

Have you got videos of every scrum ever?
Every time anyone mentions a scrum you crack out the youtube links :p

I didn't say their scrum had played better since then. I said they selected better props for this match than they did against us last year. Quit making straw men.

Not a great way to end the game and it's clear that we have zero depth, especially with the missing players. But it was still a decent win for a team that doesn't really win a lot and there are some positive things, especially L'Estrange at 10 and an improved scrum (albeit with a long way to go still).

Can't wait til they settle the vbookie I'd have put up more if I could, it was a good one thanks to the Russians not giving up when the Americans went up pretty big. I think the Eagles will need to play like they did at the beginning of the 2nd half the whole match against Tonga if they can manage it.

Final score?

Found it on twitter, bets settled, nice earnings.
