EOYT: Ireland v South Africa, 11/10/2012

JP Pietersen asked in an interview if David Skrela would be playing in the backline for Ireland, haha

What he actually rather stupidly said as it'll lake him a target. Was the only fit backs he heard of were Bowe and David Skrela. Even if he didnt know anyone its a stupid thing to say as no matter what it'll be used as fuel.

Hah, Pietersen is a moron. Seriously, to have done so little research on a man who could well be playing opposite you on the weekend is unacceptable at test match level.

On a different note, seeing that the Irish team is pretty much picked what's everyone's opinion of Murray these days? Aside from a brain fart against Metro I think he's had a pretty decent season.

I think a lot of his faults come from the fact that he tries too much. He's actually got a decent passing and kicking game and is defensively solid, but he takes the ball on far too much considering the running options he usually has at his disposal for Ireland (admittedly without SOB and Ferris things do look a bit bleaker on that front.) I think a lot of his problems come from playing his rugby at provincial level behind a back row that didn't offer very much of a running threat and having an out half outside him that offered none. Essentially he needed to carry a lot more ball than he does for Ireland. Problem is that he carried this style of play over to the international team and it's been detrimental to his game and ours.

He's still a young lad and I think he'll be a fairly viable option around the Ireland 23 for the next while. SH should become an interesting enough position with him, Marshall, McGrath and Marmion all floating about in the next few years.

To be honest with you, I reckon it's all tactics.... He's probably putting it on.

Oh, newstalk are saying that POC isn't going to make it. Drat.

Not sure of what to make of him, he is playing well enough (not getting challenged at all at munster by strings and yer other fella imo) and he is young but he has some moments of duuuuuuuh.... I have liked him since i first saw him play, he looked good but to ignore Marshall is outstanding! I doubt Marshall will even reach the bench which is annoying from an ulster perspective as we would very much like to have him playing for us.... I mean a few weeks ago I was wondering if the big RU should play ahead of him, I like Murray but if it was me I would have him on the bench to close out the game with his great box kicking.
Either way I don't mind ,he is the future and he does need international gametime
I am probably blinded by my love for Ulster tho

EDIT: and Ireland by 5

JP would be sad, but he has a shiny medal to cheer himself up.

Shane Howarth! The Black and Ambers legend.

Looking forward to watching this game when get home from work, will go for a close Ireland win.

I can't wait for this!!! Another test in Dublin and this time I will be there! Happy to see Lambie at fly-half and I can understand the decision for Taute at outside center and Kirchner at full-back. I am not the biggest fan of him, but Taute is still very young. We need some experience at full-back and since Aplon and Ludik are not in the squad, we don't have better options with Lambie at fly-half.

If we had our full squad with O'Driscoll, Kearney, Best, O'Connell, Ferris, O'Brien etc in I'd put Ireland by 6+. But I can't see us winning to be honest so I'd have to go for SA by 5.

Both teams are missing a fair number of top players. Imagine if we could have Smith, Burger, Habana, Bismarck du Plessis, Francois Steyn, Basson, Brussow... Not saying we are worse of than Ireland, but both teams have suffered recently with injuries.

And Olyy... Shut up! ;)

The most overrated flyhalf in world rugby.

Don't get me wrong, he's a fantastic player but Jesus does Ezequiel like to go on about him ;)
....and a blatant poach. Patrick Lambie? Clearly he's Irish. You won't get Ireland doing that sort of thing.............
