England vs Australia - 09/11/24

That peach of a RWC draw is your biggest culprit for papering over cracks.
True that, with that said I don't have a huge problem with however draws work out, bottom line is to be considered the best you have to be prepared to take on all comers, if you can't get out your group you realistically have 0 chance of winning the thing, sure draws make things harder in many ways but there not the entire picture they are made out to be, SA lost two pool games in their journey to being back to back World champions, this kind of proves the point.

Haven't watched the game yet apart from the injury time try but this has to be a mental thing right?

No way this Aussie team is better than England outright.

I watched the presser and Borthwick alluded to "going off of the game plan" at 15-3 up.

Seeing as England constantly give up leads, this would imply they consistently go off game plan. Or Steve is a bullshitter and is rugbys equivalent of Sean Dyche.

SB when we string 4+ phases together instead of kicking on the third

Some awful defensive stats coming out - 36 missed tackles and 13 clean line breaks against, the most since 2010. Only 3 turnovers won.

As player or coach, Borthwick's been involved in 4 of our 5 worst defensive performances.

And Sinfield's decision to carry on with his speaking date looks ever more crass by the minute. Not that his motivational powers seem to be working anyway.

We had one of those rare games where we were able to field a nearly full strength side. We can be half decent when that happens (once a season).

Also 12-13 has been a massive issue for us and moving Lenny in and putting Joseph there seems to have immediately solved it, which also took pressure off Noah.

We remember the finale and talk about the lack of impact from the bench.

But the damage was really done in a 25-3 swing to the Aussies between the 19th and 53rd minutes. 15-3 to 18-28 in 34 minutes is a huge momentum shift that's tough to recover from.

The key is to understand why that happened. Players going off piece or players playing to a rubbish game plan.

Either way you'd have thought the coaches could have got messages on during an injury or water break.

Yep, and they had half time right in the middle of it!

Agreed, but the players have to be able to problem solve this sort of stuff themselves. They can't just look to the coaches.
