England V Wales - 29th May

Just renewed Sky in time for the summer tests.

Not bad 50% off complete bundle (£40 for everything + £50 credit), Although saying that the Wonkers would of made it £30 if I had been switching from Virgin media.

On Hughes: has Eddie Jones ever mentioned him?
I've had a quick Google but can't see him ever bringing him up, just 101 articles saying "Hughes will certainly be starting next 6n" etc.
Maybe he's not as much a shoe in as everyone thinks.

The only official comment from the Lancaster regime was Rowntree saying "I like the look of that Hughes bloke."

Fairly sure nothing more came from them. Until he's qualified they're going to keep schtum.

Hughes states that Eddie has been touch with him here. That's not saying much, and I don't know if he'll get an immediate call-up, but it's clear he's at least being considered.

He's got a real uphill task to do that - Tipuric is injured. Wales are playing 2 BSFs

Which is a crying shame when we have so much talent available at 7. I would have loved to see a backrow of Moriarty, Ellis Jenkins and Faletau, with a view of switching Warburton in at 7 for the tests with NZ. Warbs and Jenkins go about things in a similar way, so it would make sense for continuity as well.

Lydiate always plays when fit though, and for unknown reason is now captaining the side ahead of AWJ! I've got a lot of time for Lydiate for what he's done for wales in the past, but I feel like the game's moved on and left him behind to some extent. A player like Moriarty, who offers some much needed go forward, would give us a better balance imo.

lydiate is excellent in defence but offers little to nothing in attack, although he has been improving this year. the one thing i do not have time for is this

he did this a week before he played for wales, admittidly the above example isnt as bad but in the wales game he also got penalised for not using his arms in the chop tackle. i cant find a clip of the wales incident but there was blatently no use of the arms.

You should give that Underhill fella a shot, looks like a good player

Yeah that's dangerous, he's always on the edge with those isn't he. Surprised he doesn't get done more often to be honest

In a video interview Jones described Burrell as "grossly overweight" at the beginning of the 6n, and he's lost 8kg since, apparently... not that that will allow him to pass off his left, but still - worth noting.

Be careful when trusting Tigs. He told me he was a Nigerian Prince and his brother was trapped on a space station.

Also don't worry I will give you the money you won in the Nigerian lottery soon.

side note if you tell Sky that Tigs man sent you they might give you a discount on a adult channel of your choice.

Oh sweet.
I hate to say it, but I was starting to doubt you, 'Tigs Uwonamilean', and your brother 'Al Helpugeddit'.
Do you have the account number that I can send the money to?

Maybe it was grossly unbalancing him am towards the right?

I really enjoy Jones' approach to interviews. He's like a perfect balance of troll and wise sage.

Should be interesting to see how the 'new' boys go today, esp. Harrison, with others coming off the bench at sensible times so as to mix with the more experienced players.

Currently settling down in front of the TV and praying that Burrell can handle Roberts.

If the set piece stays solid and we can stop Wales route one then England by 6 to 9 points.

If not, probably Wales by the same margin.

In theory at one point we could have 3 7s playing at the same time!
Kvesic, Harrison and Clifford*

*i know Clifford is an 8 long term but he's can play a brilliant game at 7 as well

Just set the dogs to clean the BBQ grill for me; beer in hand (and another taken before Mrs Tyler notices); and illegal stream found.
Wife told that it's too early in the day to mow the lawn (and she's either buying it, or humouring me - I'm happy with either)

Good timing.
