England v France

We appreciate our Italian cousins with whom we share the same quality of life, we appreciate the Celts and their conviviality … and among all these nations we have one huge thing in common: we don't like the English.

Stupid and negative declaration from Lievremont, don't know if his intentions are to motivate the team, but it will certainly reinforce the English one...
A perfect continuity of our foreign affairs and diplomacy perfomances these latest weeks...

I don't hate the English but the sporting rivalry is one of the things that makes rugby so brilliant.
England went off taking over the world back in the day and there will always be a lot of people who hold this against the nation as opposed to letting the past go.

The reason the Irish didn't take over the world ....see below

i wouldnt say i hate the english just dislike
basicly cause there the big country and i got lots ofstick at schoolcause the republic had to get bailed out
but then again i dislike the french dam cheese eating surrender monkeys!

I'm amazed that schoolkids even know what a Celtic Tiger is. Let alone be switched on enough to take the **** out of [strike]shtove[/strike] anyone.

Speaking of which, why haven't he and prestwick had an argument about banks recently?

Lievermonts comments show he is very worried about us. I'm sure it will motivate our boys even more

Just seen Robshaw has been called into the squad instead of Worsley too :)

I'd be so much happier about this if Moody wasn't just back from injury, as there's pretty much no chance he'll get a chance (unless they're going for a completely overhaul and go for something like Robshaw/Moody/Haskell - but that'll never happen)
At least he's getting more exposure to the England camp, only a matter of time until he gets a game

Edit: Just seen Corbisiero is in there because of an injury to Wilson,
Think he'll make the bench for the match (though he should be starting over Sheridan after the poor performance he put in on the weekend against Quins)

Has Ireland ever fought in any war ever?

That's what I thought...

why is we call the french cheese eaters when the British have at least an equal tradition of cheese-making?

Cheddar and Red Leicester hardly equal the bazillion varieties they produce in France. You could say we produce more wine then they do if you want to be really picky.

Good point! Someone trying to defend that might say that the French take more pleasure in cheese-making/eating(how dare they!? especially since they have nicer cheese...)

Its usually the english who create myths of rivalry , like with Germany in sport. Apparently the German's don't really care that much about beating us and don't understand why the English get so worked up about it.

Personally I like the french alot. That said, Parisians CAN be extremely arrogant and rude, and that opinion is held even within France I think. Many people in the south dislike Parisians more than they dislike the English. (apologies to any parisians frequenting these boards for the blanket stereotype, I know plenty of nice ones too)

Yeah I agree with you he probably deserves a chance but you have to say our we have great competition in that area apart from someone really pushing Easter.

Moody may be getting on but I'm sure he is a great leader and someone who is always up for the fight. I think Moody will come in for Haskell or atleast I hope. I really think Wood deserves to keep his place. Robshaw's time will come in the starting line up I'm sure.

Oly who would you take in your World cup squad for positions 6,7,8? first choice and back up
