England v France

mainly wars that they lost against a variety of Germanic-speaking peoples. Much like the French infact. Maybe that's what Lievremont meant by 'conviviality'.

Has Ireland ever fought in any war ever?

That's what I thought...

Have you never wandered why there's a Nothern Ireland and Republic of Ireland? Ireland have fought in many wars and for such a small country been the location of many wars. Some of these wars changed the course of history for example The Jacobites defeat at the hands of the Williamites at the Battle of the Boyne was the end of the Catholic campaign to reclaim England and out James on the throne and of course the Irish Independent and civil war would end British rule in Ireland and split a nation. This would then lead onto to one of the largest terrorism campaigns in the world as the the British army fought the IRA in the Troubles and this was the longest British army operation in history. Not to mention the involvement in other wars such as WW2.

I get it, you had to fight against the english oh pooor you. We got invaded by Germany 3 times in 70 years, Europe tried to gang rape us after the revolution etc.

Conal if you really believe what you wrote I feel sorry for you.

As for Ireland "involvement" in WW2, tell me about it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_neutrality_during_World_War_II

The policy of Irish neutrality during World War II was adopted by Dáil Éireann (the Parliament of Ireland) at the instigation of Éamon de Valera, its Taoiseach (Prime Minister) upon the outbreak of hostilities in Europe and maintained throughout the conflict.

Anyway that will be the end of this aparte for me.

The sheer number of idiots on this forum (most of whom seem to be Irish teenagers) amazes me. I just ignore most of them, as should you Charles.

This has gone way off topic now so I wont go on about it, but that was a lazy post. Almost as bad as some of the tripe the Irish kids are posting.

France Team announced;

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12508_6771683,00.html

France have made four changes for Saturday's RBS Six Nations fixture against England at Twickenham.

There are recalls for Sebastien Chabal, Vincent Clerc, Dimitri Yachvili and Yannick Jauzion, while Maxime Medard switches from wing to full-back to replace Clement Poitrenaud.

Poitrenaud was brought into the side which went on to beat Ireland 25-22 last time out as part of a reshuffle triggered by an injury to Maxime Mermoz, but drops back to the bench.

Damien Traille, who operated at full-back in the opening 34-21 win over Scotland before moving to centre against Ireland, also moves to the bench.

Morgan Parra and Julien Bonnaire also make way as France look to make it three wins out of three against the only other side boasting a 100 percent record after two games.

France:15 M Medard, 14 Y Huget, 13 A Rougerie, 12 Y Jauzion, 11 V Clerc, 10 F Trinh-Duc, 9 D Yachvili; 1 T Domingo, 2 W Servat, 3 N Mas, 4 J Pierre, 5 L Nallet, 6 T Dusautoir (capt), 7 I Harinordoquy, 8 S Chabal
Replacements: 16 G Guirado, 17 S Marconnet, 18 J Thion, 19 J Bonnaire, 20 M Parra, 21 D Traille, 22 C Poitrenaud

Not sure about Chabal, though Bonnaire hasnt been at his best at all. Otherwise, looks like a stronger French team to me.

Holy tripe! Discussion about rugby!

That's a French team who look like the game plan is to run around Hape and Tindall instead of acting a battering ram through them.

That wasn't my best effort, true. Apologies to all the Irish posters. I justget annoyed when we're labelled cheese eating *** by someone whose county didn't even take part in the war, and except for Elgringo and Mc Cyclopede I'm pretty much the only french around these parts so... Anyway...

Not too bad. Chabal has me worried too. Ouedraogo or Lapandry should be there instead of Bonnaire tbh, and I can' understand Lievremont obsession with Huget but aye, we've seen worse.

We're still gonna get schooled though. Somrthing along the lines of 38-10 I'd say...

</td></tr> </tbody></table> France have rung the changes for Saturday's crunch Six Nations encounter with England at Twickenham.
Sebastien Chabal, Vincent Clerc, Dimitri Yachvili and Yannick Jauzion are recalled while Maxime Medard switches from wing to full-back.
Medard replaces Clement Poitrenaud, who drops to the bench with Damien Traille.
Morgan Parra and Julien Bonnaire are also omitted for the eagerly awaited meeting between the two remaining teams with 100% records in the competition.
Meanwhile France defensive coach Dave Ellis has revealed that plans have been devised to stop wing Chris Ashton, who scored four tries as England thrashed Italy 59-13 last time out.
Ashton, who began his rugby career in league with Wigan Warriors before switching codes to join Northampton in 2007, also scored twice in the opening Six Nations match against Wales but Ellis told the Daily Telegraph: "Ashton can be stopped.
"We used to stop [former England winger] Jason Robinson from scoring. You've just got to make sure that he doesn't get the ball when he wants it.
"It's not just about closing one man down. If you concentrate on doing that, then it only takes away your focus from elsewhere.
Former London Irish defensive coach Ellis, who now also advises Gloucester on defensive policies, added: "First and foremost, you've got to stop giving England decent ball.
"Italy gave them far too much. They just let them play. They were allowed to play at their own tempo. We won't let them do that."
<hr>France: Maxime Medard; Yoann Huget, Aurelien Rougerie, Yannick Jauzion, Vincent Clerc; Francois Trinh-Duc, Dimitri Yachvili; Thomas Domingo, William Servat, Nicolas Mas, Julien Pierre, Lionel Nallet, Thierry Dusautoir (captain), Sebastien Chabal, Imanol Harinordoquy.
Replacements: Clement Poitrenaud, Guilhem Guirado, Sylvain Marconnet, Jerome Thion, Morgan Parra, Julien Bonnaire, Damien Traille.

Why do the BBC think it's clever to write the players in stupid order? 15, 11, 12, 13, 14, 9, 10, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 7.

******* idiots.

chabal and huget seem like the oddest choices wouldnt worry bout huget but chabal starting ??

i am very sorry if i offended you
but its just classic sterotypes like kilt wearing scotsmen or englishmen who say spiffing there not really true its just what people say

bar napoleon and start of ww2 you won most wars

anyways back to rugby would love to see a big french win but looks like a long shot but if france's forwards step up to the mark who knows

Will be interesting to see how Flood and Youngs handle themselves against Yashvilli and Trin-duc - probably the only 9 10 combo that can match them in Europe.

Just to say Remember we (Guernsey) were taken over by the Germans aswell. I am not trying to make anyone feel sorry for Ireland I am just stating facts. Although Ireland was considered as neutral it was bombed by Germany and many troops from Ireland fought in the war. Not to mention Ireland was used as a navigational aid in the war as large numbers were painted on the land so allies could see we they were. I am no way defending Ireland or trying to offend France (Don't forget Guernsey is almost as much french as it is british)

Why isn't the England team being named until Thursday?
Most other teams are naming them today =/

I'm ******** bricks moreso about Hape vs Jouzion.

Your mancrush for Jauzion is quite touching but he's really not the player he was a few years ago. If I were you I'd just be ******** gravel :)

Huget vs Ashton makes me **** Eiffel towers (my little contribution to the cliché competition of the posts before)
I'd say England by 15

BBC sport states Johnson's aiming to have Moody back, so he's probably seeing how he trains before throwing him in with an injured knee
