England v France

I like reading these French people accepting imminent defeat.

France just get on role then make strange calls. Harinordoquay is no flanker either and Parra I'm still shocked at.
Messed in at 15 is correct call as Poitrenaud is a liability at moment.

Harinordoquy has played quite often flanker with Biarritz or Pau.

France have been far from convincing so far, and I see nothing that leads me to believe they will "come right" this weekend.

England, on the other hand, are on a form roll.

England by 10

First off, HELLO RUGBY FORUM! first post
Welcome to the forum!

Ashton will obviously be targeted but we have the running lines of Cueto and Flood to support him that should give us the difference on the day. I agree with the lad who keeps saying 'Bollix', 10-15 points lead England win, and a filthy hang over for me the next day!
Me and you are going to get on :p

You guys seem to forget that even if Frenchies are not close to their best form, French forwards are still incredibly talented (i'm talking about the likes of Servat, Mas, Nallet etc...). It's probably the best scrum of the world (at least, in Europe) at the moment.

And backs, well, they are not lacking talent. Jauzion is a world-class center, Rougerie is an incredible 2nd center when he got the ball in his hands (remember Australia, Scotland, even Ireland this year).
Clerc (who's still H cup best try scorer) is awesome, he's slowly coming back to his best level.

Poitrenaud is one of Europe's best fullback (This does NOT mean that Foden is a bad player). You have to watch him play every week to figure out how good that guy is (or just remember the 2010 6N tournament).

Trinh-duc is incredible when he's attacking with the ball (that's why many people say that he would be best with a number 12 on his jersey), but he has now an incredible vision of the game. He's not anymore the guy who is always attacking the line when he gets the ball, he is now able to play like a "proper" fly-half. And each game this guy is making a classy pass/kick/whatever he needs to do.

And Yachvili his playing his best rugby this season with Biarritz.

For some reasons, people tend to underestimate France. They have already forget that France won Grand Slam last year.

I agree that England looks quite strong this year, and I understand that English are pretty confident, but this shouldn't make you forget that Frenchies are far from being amateurs.

Nobody thinks France are bad, it is just they always tend to underperfom against England. Ally this to their poor form and England's good form and well, thats why england are favourites

Its just in the English blood to defeat the French, call it 'genetics' if you will...

You forgot to talk about our defence. Sure, we looked pretty good against Australia in the first half and against Scotland (especially thanks to counter attacks) but our defence is so weak that I am afraid England are going to take out les Bleus, easily maybe.

Normans, Flemings and Bretons, not French ;)

(the arse end of the hundred years war and walcheren might have been better choices with which to make your point)

Not here to start a row but define "English" Its an amalgamation of Celts , Romans , Angles , Jutes , Norse , Danes , Normans :S Surely if you can label all these English you can call the Celtic people of Brittany and the Norse of Normandy who had been settled there for over 150 years as "French".
