Oh, and we won´t win the World Cup, unless both South Africa and New Zealand are knocked out by other teams the best we can hope for is getting to the final.

I don' get the Abendanon love, sure he can attack, but he's not THAT amazing - and his defence is shocking.

Manu isn't fit anyway.

Why the fuk mention bendy and steffon FFS.

Brb get over it or fan girl over armitage on his Twitter.

Isn´t he? Have you asked Cockerill?

Like Goode´s defence isn´t shocking.

Well exactly he much like Armitage has worked extremely well in the way Toulon are set up. If Bendy was so great why wasn't he pushing for inclusion (by people on the interwebs) to England whilst playing for Bath? Answer Brown et al would probably even better if they played for Toulon than Bendy.

If only they were both capped over five years ago! They would have shone! ...or been entirely naff. I can't remember which it was.

Fatty and Bendy will no doubt continue to be the best players never to play for England (who actually have) and cruel victims of England's parochial selection policy (which they were both aware of when signing their contracts).

Yes, they play for the European Cup finalists because they are rubbish.

Me too, we agree on something! I would have Cipriani there instead.

I knew you guys would argue about the details, my point was more about cutting off our nose to spite our face.

GN10 - thanks for the link. Good to know for the future.

Not sure however if I have setup Periscope in time. I followed England Rugby but it told me they are not streaming at the moment. Is that the correct way to set it up?

it's finished now..

The key thing about Cipriani´s omission to me is that we will now have a farrell-goode bench, rather than a cipriani-burgess one.

Kruis is there because he is quicker and harder-worker than Attwood. Attwood can sometimes go missing in the defensive line; Kruis doesn't. Or so I'd guess.

But I don't see the point of that when Launch, Lawes and Parling also have that. We're not short of worker ants. We're short of grunt locks. Attwood would have brought a different option.

I'd rather start Kruis than Attwood for England, but I'd much rather have Attwood on the bench. Kruis won't be starting. Trick missed here possibly.

If you have him at 15, which is where England seem to want to play him and imo may even be a better position for him, then we don't even have to care about goalkicking.

Alternatively, him at 10 and Slade in the centres also covers goal kicking quite well.

England have been playing him there because third choice 10 needs a second position - I don't know whether they actually want him there. I'd like to see him start a match there though.

Cips-Slade would solve the issue, but Slade-Joseph will never be seen at a guess as it will be thought too underpowered.

In fairness, I think Armitage would have moved back if he thought Lancaster wanted him to. I think they key issue there is Lancaster doesn't really want him.

Also, Bendy is at Clermont.

Good old England... always reliable for f__king up and following meeja hype rather than reality.

Matt Giteau, Tevita Kuridrani and Israel Folau are currently having wet dreams about how they are going to run all sorts of angles around Burgress.

France it's all the same place, full of cheese eating surrender monkey foreigners ;)

I think the Lancaster/Armitage thing is more complex than that I think Lancaster didn't want to commit in case he proved as ineffectual as he did in his first stint in England colour's. Essentially Lancaster didn't want to be on record saying he definitely play him so he could choose not to.

Exactly. Attwood hasn't looked particularly impressive when starting for England, but does offer grunt off the bench. Perhaps the concern is that if he was on bench he's too much of a risk to bring on in case of early injury? Stretching it, but otherwise can't really see why...
