England - Squad Announcement Thursday 27th

Cips out and if Morgan is out I'll lose it. He needs more game time and he tears teams apart as an impact sub. Yes, Easter was good when he came on but Morgan would have been as good if not better in those circumstances.

Aside from what you said RE our capitulation at the group stage, I'm inclined to agree with you. Whenever Morgan gets the ball - and especially when he's back sweeping - i get a little bit excited. He's the nearest thing to a wrecking ball that we have.

The problem, as far as I see it, is that we can't afford to carry anyone, especially those who aren't fit. We've three games that will need our starting XV, with plenty of work required from the bench. Can we really run the risk of taking a semi-fit player when three quarters of our games will be make or break?

We are more than likely take launchbury, so I can't see why not. Morgan could be rested if needs be for Fiji and have Haskell as cover for 8 if injuries occur which still gives him near a month to get fitter. Although I would be inclined to put Morgan on the bench to give him game time.

Kruis over Attwood?! I give up, wake me when we win the World Cup.

Apologies for being a tad melodramatic haha

Implying Dimes will release him from his contract! :p

I've always stuck up for/liked Lancaster, but same as many above, i've lost all faith in him.

Well for enough money surely Dimes will? Can get a replacement who is as good and with less perceived baggage and still make a profit?

Yeah. I've been a fan of Stu, despite his faults, for all of his tenure so far. But if the various rumours about selection and how that selection was reached are true... Well I'll find it quite hard to stay a fan!

All he needs to do now is to pick Burrell! :0

Is he really not going with Cipriani? I would normally say that decisions like this are made because of such strength in depth, but I don't think George Ford will hack this World Cup, he's too young and inexperienced to have all that pressure on him. Owen Farrell is just... well he's ok. Cips has such an x factor quality to him.

Would be genuinely amazed - who's as good as Cipriani who will be available now?
There's no baggage with Danny at Sale.

Just had a look through twitter and i've never seen such outrage at a player not being selected since BOD in the Lions, and even then you had the Welsh backing Gatland!
Pundits, media, ex and current players all getting stuck into Lancs.

He was never going to get in, it was Him vs Goode and Goode is a the 2nd choice full back with Watson being 3rd choice. Cips would have been 3rd choice fly half, now Cips is going this really does say that he will be taking Slade as 3rd choice Fly Half surely? Does anyone else get my logic?

Also I Called it ages ago that Kruis would have got in, Looking at the Past Aviva season he is our 3rd choice, but the first warm up against France he looked really disappointing. Attwood looked steady, so im really surprised if this turns out true. But I am a Kruis fan and he does have a lot of potential, but I wouldn't take Potential to the WC..

I understand the Reasonings behind dropping Cipriani he would have only been a passenger at the WC i think, he would have been 3rd choice 10 behind ford and faz, he would have been 3rd choice 15 behind brown and watson.

Burgess in, Burrell out. 36 out, Slade in.

Being reported on Twatter.

That genuinely made me smile on the tube. Despite my strong opposition to Burgess at first, I've found myself coming round to the idea - to the extent that now I'm apparently pleased he (if true) got picked over Burrell. Maybe it's the romantic in me, maybe it's the Bath supporter. Maybe I'm just right! Which would mean I was wrong before, but ah well.

Shame about Cips, but we all knew it was coming. The bit Lancaster needs castigating for isn't not picking him now, it's giving him 2 10 minute run ons out of position as his only chance to stake a claim.

Which makes it more staggering that in those run outs in the wrong position he has both times been able to have a significant impact.

Never thought I would ever say this but cips missing out is a shame, he is the one play maker we have that can play in a variety of positions that does have impact off the bench. Oh well at least we have Burgess superstar in the making!

Agree entirely - very impressive that he had such an impact. But he didn't get to prove he can do the basics of fullback well enough to merit selection as 15 cover. Why the **** wasn't he given a chance to merit selection as a flyhalf?

I'm officially jumping on the "#justice4Cipriani" bandwagon!

Yeah despite my grumblings re:Cipriani, he has been excellent, and done everything he can to deliver what SL asked.

On Saturday was the first time I wished he was playing 10 for England, because he absolutely changed that game.

I now feel i'd probably pick him over Ford, and genuinely feel sorry for him. He looked like Danny from Wasps again.

In fairness if say Slade fits that description better, and he is in according to rumour
