England Six Nations Squad 2025

Borthwick is the play caller. The only time I think the attack coach has any say of the play is if we make it to the opposition 10m line. If we don't, it's kick it there until we do

doubt it'll happen but Arnold at 12 with OL outside him would be awesome
He was great for us...gutted he got his injury. But he's the type of stop gap that 'could' work...

But I think we have a couple of options now. Just need to pick the right ones...

Is Steward a genuine option or is it never going to happen?

Never going to happen, people only talk about it because Clive Woodward or Stephen Jones (or both?) mentioned it before and really...why is anyone listening to either of them

I think people talk about it because we don't have a heavy duty 12 like most international teams do and his skills set would seem to be suited for it.

One of the few times Woodward has actually made sense.

Sammy Arnold? The Ireland capped Sammy Ireland?

I'd love it, Scotland have an Australian 12, Ireland have a kiwi, wales have an English 12 so we should probably get a foreign born one in to stick with the theme.

Over three years since his cap so hes fine.

But that we as partially tongue in cheek.

I absolutely loathe "project players"...but hey every fecker else is doing it so why not just join them. We may find a young juggernaut 12 to develop.

He is the play caller, but starting to question who is picking the squad...
Is it the marketing men who want the revenue from advertising with the 'stars'.
Feels very similar to the football team a few years ago when people were picked because of who they were, and not their form.

Really? I think the hype is running way ahead of what he's actually proven internationally.
He has had 1 good half, and 3 average ones in two games. Great kick against Scotland.

He looks promising, but I really don't see this "next coming of Wilkinson" thing at this stage.

It's classic English flavour of the month thing tbh, and people online and some in the media are starting to decide this is now Marcus the pantomime villain who has always been a pretender vs the industrious honest knight Fin.

If Marcus had short hair, I genuinely think the conversation about him would be quite different amongst a decent few people

2 games wont that we probably shouldnt have, but hey id rather be winning than losing.

The team themselves will know this is not good enough, as will SB and his coaching team. They have an Italian side up next that will be well up for it, and then a Wales side who looked better and will relish putting one over the English.

We just have to wait and see how they prepare and play in the last two games, that will be the indicator for me where we are heading. Poor performances again, scraping wins (or defeats), and im afraid Mr Borthwick and His coaching team are in trouble.
