England Six Nations Squad 2025

Not sure the hype is a great as others are making out. He's 22 has 10 caps with two test starts and won two games. His tackle stats were mad 2nd only to Ben Earl. Not much else he can do.

Seems like if he had long hair, 42 caps and a hitch kick people would see him very differently.

I appreciate that second bit is a joke, but it's kind of the point - Marcus has been England's best player for almost all of the 18 months leading up to this Six Nations.

We lost a load of games really tightly, but we were often in them based on Marcus's individual brilliance. People tried to blame him for the rest of the backline being turgid, but yesterday's game and attacking tendancies proved it is just gameplan.

There is a strong argument for starting Fin, and his defence in particular was superb, but people (not hugely on here, but on social media more widely) have suddenly turned on Marcus for seemingly no reason.

Honestly i like both. Do i have a slight bias towards the Saintsman most definitely

Just wish England had the right game plan that suited both when currently they don't

It's hard to soar like an eagle surrounded by turkeys. The turkeys being the tactics.

Is there a right plan suited to both though?
M.Smith isn't Mckenzie, and would also mean M.Smith would have to play 15 for Quins which makes little sense.

I think Marcus Smith coming on at 50-60 mins against tired legs would work well. I also don't understand all the sudden Marcus hate, the problems hi way beyond him and he's one of the few who actually tries something.

I think there is a place for both of them and both have real talent. What's missing is any semblance of good coaching.
