Launchbury does

No Launchbury has a high workrate but could not show the pace Croft could that late in the game, I don't know any player that could. You have to understand the energy scummaging takes out of a 2nd rows legs. When ever I played 2nd row I was a pace off how I would be playing back row. The only player who had fantastic pace playing both 2nd and back row was Tom Croft. Happy for someone to prove me wrong.

Launchbury doesn't have the pace of Croft to start with, and Croft hasn't played anywhere near as much high level lock as Launch, it's not really that comparable to be fair

Very true but you brought Launchbury up, Peat was making the point that playing lock will slow you down, the only player I have seen that doesn't happen to is Croft but that was admittedly with Tigers not England

Brookes out- back to square one at TH. Thanks Mallinder.

****, that's not good - think he could've cemented the starting spot by the end of the 6N.

So Cole starting and.....Thomas? Wilson? on the bench?
Wilson's barely playing for his club, and I still have major reservations over Thomas (he's been binned for **** scrummaging this season, hasn't he?).

Paul Doran-Jones hasn't been that bad... :p

I know it'd be boring and stupid if we said "Coach picked him, must be good", but the level of scorn seen for a two-time Lion with 40 England caps is pretty bizarre, and the unwillingness of some people to sit down and consider why so many pro coaches have rated him even more so. If he's still fit and in form come this spring, someone should have to be really going that extra yard to be in front of him.
Whilst some people exaggerate a lack of tight work, he's not exactly in the top tier of international 6s for it either, and it stuck out in a time when we had a fairly plodding pack.

Vs Saints.

I wouldn't be unhappy to see Thomas on the bench - wouldn't object to JCW or Sinckler either. Neither's the worst option in the world, although it's awful timing for Brookes, who looked like he was about to emerge as a real international contender.

May have been raised already, this is the first time I've been online for weeks, but...

Will Chudley for England?

He is VERY good.
I prefer him to Simpson, as his basics are better.

Think that we'll have Care, Youngs and one of Wigglesworth and Simpson, though.

Clearly you rate Simpson if you'd have him in the EPS twice!

But seriously, why would Ben Youngs be dropped? There no point in just dropping players for the sake of change, Youngs is one of our only experienced players to be playing well. Can't just keep changing every position, surely we want some consistency? I'd have care, Youngs and then one of Simpson, chudley or spencer, depending on who's playing best.

Woops! I meant Youngs instead of the first Simpson - I think Youngs will be our starting 9.

But seriously said:
He cant be dropped if he hasn't been picked. Slate wiped clean and all that.

Its Care for me at the moment, looking back to his sharpest best. If Chudley carries on like he is hes certainly going to put himself in with a chance..

I though Chudley was a lot younger than he actually is ...
