Was really impressed with George.
I imagine he'll have to do something special in training/warmups to get close to the 23, but he really deserves to be.
who are we going to pick above him in the 23. Surely not Webber?

It's between LCD and George, I'd think.

George's darts have been consistent all season haven't they?

I fully expect Lancs to have Youngs as first choice and Webber as 2nd.
George is only in the mix because of Hartley's ban, which I think shows what the England thoughts on him are.

If Webber somehow magically plays to his ability then fine, but his form has been getting worse since about halfway through the season.

I'm going to put the case forward again (I know he makes for a great impact sub), but surely Mako is now pressing hard for the starting LH jersey? I reckon him along with Cole were the outstanding props (EP) in the prem during the second half of the season (good scrummaging and awesome around the field). His work-rate, carrying, offloads and influence on Billy's game are big positives- you could easily get 60 mins out of him nowadays starting as opposed to 20 mins at the end of the match.
We saw the influence today of bringing on a dynamic prop (Auterac) over a steady eddy and how it influenced the game for the better, I rate Marler, but Mako has a compelling case.... what say you?

Mako, Youngs, Cole... subs; George/LCD, Marler/Corbs, Brookes/Wilson

I was really pleased to see Attwood putting in another good performance- on his 'A' game he makes for a very good impact sub and is a guy you could bring on to put in massive hits and play a great defensive game (carrying is pretty decent too when he's fresh).
George put in a great performance again (surely even Lanky noticed how poor Webber was).... your turn now LCD.

"There is a very real possibility that Dylan could find himself out of the squad for good," Lancaster said. "There are so many impressive young players in the country who are pushing their way through and the next generation of hookers are good: as well as Luke and Jamie, Tommy Taylor has been hugely impressive.

Hartley Dunzo?

Tommy Taylor
#namedrop
Noone else got their surnames in their. Who is luke? Who is jamie? God only knows.
Tommy, though, that's tommy taylor.

To be fair I've always viewed Hartley as a stop gap kind of guy. He's good at all the aspects of being a hooker without really being world class at any. Good guy to know you can call on, but when someone who has truely world class attributes comes along he'll fall to the side

That's a bit unfair, when Hartley is on his A game he is and should be first choice for England don't remember a better hooker than him since Moore.

Perhaps I was a little harsh, but i do really think he has no standout specialness about him.

Errrr you don't look very hard at a player then do you!

Hartley has the standout ability to only give a penalty away, get banned or carded when it matters.

Average players can't do that, name me one other hooker who can get them selves banned to miss a World Cup, a lions tour and a premiership final????

If Steve Thompson kills you for that, it will be thoroughly deserved.

I thought it was two Lions tours?

Hartley has been an excellent England player, anyone who disputes that is frankly a bit simple.

i dunno he's been excellent at times but he's deffo no the greatest since mooro! Thompson and Regan were better...

I'm a saints and massive Hartley fan but I think a lot of people would ignore his abilities as a player because of his liabilities in discipline.

It's a fair point as you have to look at a player as a whole, his set piece work has been brilliant, his work in the loose on form is international standard (not amazing but good), but you can't ignore his continued disciple problems.

Right but when has he cost England on the field with discipline? Like he doesn't give away many penalties, rarely carded for England.

By taking up experience then not being here for the World Cup. Could have given so many other people caps etc. He's cost England that way.
