England 2024/25

I dont have access to that, who does it mention
Most centres who started this weekend, really - it's more of an analysis of this round, really, rather than talking about England specifically

Mostly focused on analysing Woodward, few little bits on RMW, Atkinson, Ojomoh/Butt and Waghorn/Beard and then namechecks James Williams

Yeah i manged to read it.

I think Beard should get a run out on the summer tour. 12 well Woodward and Atkinson are good shouts but Dingwall will want to keep the shirt

And id like to know what the coaching team make of Ojomoh.

And Dingwall should keep the shirt.

I don't necessarily think he's the long term solution but he's the man in possession albeit not yet fully established. By all means blood others from the bench.

What 23 do you think we will see on the summer tour?

Excluding the likely Lions (Genge, one of George/LCD, Stuart, Itoje, Chessum, 1x Curry, Earl, 1x Smith, Freeman), I would guess:

1. Baxter
2. George/LCD (Dan)
3. Heyes
4. Hill
5. Martin
6. CCS
7. Curry (Pollock)
8. Willis
9. JVP
10. The other Smith (Ford)
11. Sleightholme
12. Dingwall
13. Beard
14. Roebuck
15. Furbank

16. Dan (Tuipolotu)
17. Rodd
18. Opoko-Fordjour
19. Coles
20. Pollock (Kenningham/Evans/Pearson)
21. Mitchell (Randall)
22. Ford (Ojomoh with Furbank covering 10 or another forward with 6/2 split if both Smith's are Lions and Ford starts)
23. Daly (Would prefer to see a Murley but think Mr. Versatile will win out)

Assuming Feyi-Waboso is not fit and Arundell doesn't get picked due to french season timing. Would love to see Butt in the squad, could be an interesting option at 12. Also hope some of the young u20s props get a call into the squad for experience.

Sleightholme likely to be out after surgery.

Mitchell didn't have a brilliant 6N but I still think he'll make the Lions squad. Even if he doesn't, I don't see JvP leapfrogging him.

I'd like to see:

1. Baxter
2. LCD (or George)
3. Heyes
4. Coles
5. Martin
6. CCS
7. B. Curry
8. Willis
9. JvP
10. Ford
11. Murley
12. Dingwall
13. Beard
14. Roebuck
15. Furbank

16. Dan
17. Rodd
18. AOF
19. Hill
20. Pollock
21. Randall
22. Ojomoh
23. Hendy

A lot depends on how big the Lions squad is. If Farrell takes a big group I could see both Smiths and both Currys going. Possibly even some surprise calls like CCS.

If that's the case, I'd have Furbank covering 10 and take Hendy and Carpenter because I don't think Charlie Atkinson or Bailey are quite there.

Mitchell, Curry, George all possible Lions I think. Maybe a couple more.

Squidge Rugby has Dingwall as his bolter. Even as a one eyed Saints fan I'd say that's at best very optimistic.

Yeah if fit Clarke will go maybe Lockett? He'll be looking at a few locks I would think.

What's people's thoughts on Seb Blake?

Back row is a difficult one. Kenningham is just a class act but Ben Curry came alive internationally this 6n and will be there, and Pepper is gonna be special. Add in Pearson etc and suddenly it's a difficult one.

Willis must be first choice 8 on the tour ..and I'd rest Earl of he isn't a lion.

Don't think Pearson will be in the mix, he's not been great this season on the whole - you be wanting him to step up when Saints are under the cosh but he hasn't

England XV vs France XV (that's what they're billing it as, so don't think it's a full A game) in June will be interesting as it'll be missing players from the top 4

I'm not much of a fan of Pearson to be honest. Think there's much better players competing with him.

Tom Curry Will be a lion but Ben Curry was outstanding when he started getting time so could he go as a lion? Is Earl an option with his ability to play Flank, 8 (and 12 😉)

Then that leaves CCS, Pepper, Kenningham, Hill, Pollock, Willis..

Not sure on Barbeary...and Underhills back playing?

Would you look at Bamber or is he a prem player only?
