Got to replace the gate into the garden.
Got the new one, treated/stained it (apparently, stain designed by someone who doesn't know what oak looks like).
Removed the knackered gate from its hinges.
Removed the top hinge.
Tried to remove the bottom hinge.... Got 2 screws out, and... Nope, not happening.
Obviously, I can't put the new gate on until that hinge is removed (and re-placed a bit lower).

Hmmm. Tried my "damaged screw remover" which works about 1/10. Today is not one of them.
1 of the screws did listen a bit, before just stripping the head, but I was able to get a cold chisel in there and break off the head.
Down to 1 screw, which hasn't turned a single degree...
Tried using the cold chisel to listen the wood's grip - no luck.

Anyone got any suggestions?
Got a "better quality" set of removers in the Amazon basket, but would like to get it fixed today.

What I've had to do in the past - because our company likes to make screw heads out of cheese - is use a dremel and cut a slot in the screwhead so you can use a slot head screwdriver to get them out. Bearing in mind I work on medical diagnostic kit, it must fill the lab staff full of confidence when I'm in there lab hacking the machine apart.

That's... a good call actually, but it's become a job for tomorrow, as I've a Saturday full of rugby watching to do

Just wanted to say thank you for that recommendation.
I managed to get the screws out with the new extractors - but I also have some corten steel that I need to put some holes in, to put a wood seat on top of - so I'm getting one of these bad boys anyway.
I'm really nor used to cutting / making holes in metal
Is it stainless or mild steel?

Corten, which I believe is considered 14 gauge? - an IIRC 0.8mm

It's the log storage, which at 400mm high, is just asking to be made into a seat
Planning to cut (and seal) a strip of 20mm x 45mm - screw that into the underside of 2 lengths of scaff board, then use coach bolts to attach to the log store. Tempted to try "sealing" the scaff board with Ali's blowtorch (uses to melt silver for jewelry)

If your going to drill holes go slow with plenty of pressure and get some cutting fluid. If you go too fast it will just harden what you are trying to drill through.

Thank you again

Keep spraying? or spray > drill > spray > drill etc? If the latter, what approximate time frames (I'd rather not temper when I'm trying to cut)

Drill a bit, spray a bit. Take your time and have a rag handy to wipe the excess. There might be burrs where you drill through so be careful not to cut yourself and have a file ready. Alternatively go to your local industrial estate and find the welders and ask them to do it. It will probably cost you a 4 pack of Stella

Got some air in the central heating pipes and it's doing my head in

Got back from a week away (so hot water/heating not been used) yesterday and the boiler wouldn't start - gave the warning for pressure issue (cause by air in pipes)
Couldn't find a radiator key so went out this morning, bled all the radiators - hot water back on fine, tried the central heating and it's bubbled some more air around the system

Now I've just spent the whole day resetting the boiler, turning on the central heating, leggings upstairs to bleed the radiators in the hope I catch this bubble, failing, boiler turning off, leaving it for a bit - wash rinse repeat

I'll get it eventually but it's so frustrating, wish the boiler wasn't too clever for its own good and just let me live with the bubbley pipes

Ali wants decking in the corner where the compost bin and raised beds used to be - to the softest, best quality soil in the whole garden. So it's want a hard-core base to stop it sinking and twisting.
It's only about 5m2, so I decided to compact the hard core by hand...
I have blisters... on the web between thumb and first finger... on my wanking hand :(
