6/10. not the biggest sinead o connor fan, apart from this beautiful collaboration with moby...
Moby - Harbor[/b]
That's ok, you have to be in a ... certain mood. 7/10
O'Connor tried a banshee version of the Gershwin song My Man's Gone Now - there's a studio documentary of her constantly getting it wrong under Larry Adler's production, big pressure on her from a great musician, kind of humiliating.
Not a top singer, but she did come through with a spine chilling performance. Tough at the top!
Can't find it on t'intertubes, so here's a Nina Simone version - just superb:

7/10. Great voice as usual from nina.
Anyway, a lot of African music you hear nowadays is characterised by that jumpy, fast guitar... that's all derived from Congolese soukous music. Orchestra Baobab fused that with their own traditional Wolof griot music, and also with Cuban influences from Senegal's afro-cuban scene.

That was great, 9/10. This threads getting more interesting with these songs, keep 'em coming.

Great song this one from the Brazilian psychedelic/folk band, think this is from 1967.
