I have heard from a good source that Jerry Collins will retire from international rugby tomorrow, and pursue a career in Europe.

Hense why he took the final kick in the Semi-Final.

I thought he might be retiring by way he kicked the last goal. I thought I might be reading into it too much but you might be right. I hope not. I think some rugby players dont want to play under Graham Henry.....

Gees by the way Jerry played last night it looked as if he was retiring altogether. I think his mind is already in Europe and he probably doesn't want the added pressures of the All Blacks affecting his overseas travels.

Well if he does call it quits good luck to him for the future and all the best.

Thats a pretty big shock. He is only 27 so he has another 4 years/wc in him, would be sad without him, one of my favourite all blacks. Good luck to him, I doubt its for the money because Jerry never played for money, hes turned down sponsorship money, cars etc and always helped the needy, so he must want to wind down in Europe.

True, I think Graham Henry has something to do with him leaving. Jerry Collins played Rugby because he enjoys it. I guess he no longer wants to feel the pressure of International rugby. If this is true I wish him well and I hope he has made the decision he feels is right.

That would be a great shame for NZ Rugby! Good news for SA! No Collins? Would leave a big gap in NZ loose trio!

Dont worry there are always plenty of great back row forwards to take his place in NZ ( as the Lions found out in 2005)

If the All Blacks selectors stick with So'ioalo at 8 I think Kaino will get the first chance at 6 given he is a better ball runner than Read - they need someone in their loose forwards who can break the line. I'd imagine both Read and Kaino will make the squad though now...

I disagree. Read has been the shining light in the Crusader loose trio which says something considering McCaw's presence. Therefore I say Read has the better form.

BUT, I say Kaino at 8 instead of Rodney for the upcoming home series just to see how the 2 go.

Read has been Rueben Thorne-esque - Soild at best 95% of the time. Kaino on the other hand has been devastating on a regular basis, and offers a hell of a lot more in all aspects of his game - his one thing he lacked before this year was the consitent workrate, which, like Afoa, he has finally figured out.

And why would you play Kaino at 8 just to see how he goes? 6 is his best position and thats the one with the most glaring need, Rodney has argubaly been the best Number 8 in the world for the last 18 months, no worries there.
