Clermont v Munster

O'Gara, despite what the man of the match award may have said, needs to up his game big time this weekend, if he's not on song it could be a long afternoon for Munster, so I'd be more concerned about him rather than the defensive partnership of Mafi and Murphy.

I'm not sure how long Warwick will be allowed play for, but he is there on the bench If ROG plays shite. Not that I think ROG will play shite, I think he will be his usual self playing HEC rugby in a red jersey.

I'm surprised they didn't go with Warwick at full back and Earls in the centre, worked a treat against Sale.

Agreed, but maybe Murphy is now a world class scoring machine and we've been holding bacxk his immense talent and exotic name for this match of all matches....BEWARE!!!!!!

Alternatively it may just be that the attacking threat of Earls outweighs the kicking threat we gain from having Warwick.
With a solid French surface and tasty french weather I'd be weary of the Earls....

well I don't know about Clermont Ferrand but if it's anything like the rest of France then there's been plenty of rain in the last month, just depends on how good a job the groundsman has done.

It's still gonna be dry though for the match.

Promising start from Barnes, not even capable of seeing an obvious knock on. Oh Lord how does he get these games.

I wish Wayne Barnes wouldn't try and speak French, his French is bad as most of my student's English, painful stuff.

Marcus always thought he was a winger, great that he gets the chance to try and prove that, Howlett must be quaking in his boots. Good to see the quick call from the touch judge as well.

Nice conversion from ROG as well.

13-6 Munster

Munster are in total control, 16-9, Clermont as with many French sides now seem to think throwing the ball aimlessly across the field will break the line.

Munster's defence has been impregnable so far.
They know how important this victory is, and they've done everything right so far, besides Howlett's almost try...
Clermont, if they don't get a score before half-time, will lose, I think, as they're starting to run out of ideas...

Munster keep giving the penalties away that are keeping Clermont well and truly in this game.
