Prop Ryan Grant has been called up from Scotland’s tour of South Africa.
Grant will fly from Durban this evening and arrive in Brisbane tomorrow following the injuries to Jenkins and Cian Healy.
The Irishman will return home on Sunday after a scan revealed significant ligament damage around the ankle. The recovery time is expected to exceed the duration of the tour.
British & Irish Lions Head Coach Warren Gatland said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with Cian. It has been a day of mixed emotions for him after being quite rightly being cleared of foul play but then the scan revealing the extent of the damage to his ankle. He has made a big contribution on and off the field in the last two weeks and we wish him well in his recovery.
“Given Cian’s injury we have decided to bring Ryan in. He has played well in the RaboDirect Pro 12 this season and for Scotland in the RBS Six Nations and we look forward to him and Alex Corbisiero arriving tomorrow.â€

Gutted for him can't imagine how he feels atm ,the Lions will be at a loss without him. Hope he has a speedy recovery .

Wow...what a shame. But I quite like the fact that it takes a Scot to replace him. ;)

American=Irish we all know it.

Could be Scottish, too...the number of those claiming to be Irish Americans is somewhere around 35 mil, while the number of those claiming to be Scottish Americans is around 25 mil. I am part of the latter group (though also part Danish and German). Truth be told, most Americans are mutts, curs and mongrels.

Woof.

No no, if you a white english speaking American you assume yourself to be Irish if you a white english speaking Canadian you assume yourself to be Scottish. Most popular Irish-American surname.......Smith

Awww...here's a little something to cheer you up...

AAAAAAHHHHHHH !!!!!!!! WOW !!!! and I'm going to sleep in a few minutes...just whaaaaaaat - thaaaaaaa - faaaaaaaaaack ?!

Sorry for Healy, had to happen on the first (second ?) match of the tour, poor poor dude......

God, St Patricks Day in the States is one of the most painful experiences in the world. A Northern Irish mate would always get kicked out of the pubs for getting into it with the plastic paddies. Good times.

We've got a stone that you kiss, all you desperate Irish-Americans get the **** over here and give us your money.

The Irish pride thing of the 90s has died down a bit...but god forbid someone play a jig lest everyone within 100 yards turns into Michael Flatley. :rolleyes:

It's not so bad being a Scottish American as they all seem far more laid back and less boisterous.
