Cheetahs v Lions

why else would Halfpenny hide his under a scrum cap? :p[/b]
So that the greatness that is his hair doesn't get imitated by millions of children worldwide. Leigh's hair > Byrne's. -__-

Ellis is also a f***wit, just to add to your point.

Looking at the bench I've noticed that D'Arcy will probably come on for one of the back three and the Fitzgerald I suspect will slip back into the back three somewhere.

Agree. Never heard of any of em, except for that guy who rocked the world of poofball a few years ago, and the cricketer on the bench.

They must be shite or my encyclopedic knowledge of rugby isnt ........ eh...... very encyclopedic-ish.[/b]

Some very good players in there. You should have heard of at least some of them! I have a naughty feeling that they will be half the team they normally are without Nokwe (who scores a ridiculous number of tries for the number of times he touches the ball) and Smith (who can fend small motor vehicles when in form)

I hope Brussouw plays a blinder just to stick it to PdV for not choosing him.

Although I have a sneaky suspicion Brussouw will be involved in the Tri Nations due to his fetching abilities and was left out of this tour due to his lack of bulk.

Money-where-your-mouth-is time for Williams. If he doesnt perform tomorrow I think it's game over test wise. Hopefully he'll go nuts and score a hat-trick.

Good to see Earls back in, and Worsley getting a shout. Can't wait for the game now.

28-12 Lions.[/b]

One key point is to note that so far the only teams he's played with have technically been...well... in the first game the support he was given was quite frankly awful.

The last game he didn't start and it was our best performance for that with Bowe and Monye getting plenty of support. Now all of a sudden, Monye, who had a pretty poor game compared to the others imo, is being put above Williams in the pecking order. It is highly likely that if Williams played the last match he would have scored as many as Monye and also performed better in defence.

These are all ifs and buts yet I can see it being a real problem and it could be a problem for him again today.

Incidentally, in my test team, I actually put Kearney in at 11 anyway. ;)

I doubt this will happen but can you imagine the pain of having Kearney, Halfpenny and Byrne in your back three. Three absolutely massive boots on them. You'd never win a kicking contest. It'd be a giant kick in the balls (pun absolutely intended) everytime you kicked it back there.

Shane perform better in defence? He only had to make one tackle against the Lions and their 14 completely flattened him. Will Greenwood was very quick to blame BOD for the Lions try, and while I'd like to subscribe to the notion that BOD is some kind of superior life form who doesn't make mistakes, Will was right. *Cue Greenwood jokes*

Don't really see why Shane Williams is still out there, he's not even close to being good enough for a lions shirt as proved in the first game.

good man Barnes, run away like the coward you are. Convenient miss by Joubert with Breedt's punch on Ferris.

I really don't rate Harry Ellis .... at all.[/b]

don't think anyone with half a brain does. Not sure what that says for the Lions management for picking him in the first place

Cheetahs miss their penalty.

Still 3-0.

Oh! Ferris is in. :)

He's going to provide some good competition for the number 6.

Perhaps the fact he was voted the best player in the world, for right or wrong, last year might have something to do with it.

yet again we see the difference between the 2 styles of captaincy, 14-0 up on Wednesday the Lions take the 3 points, only 10-0 up today and with Halfpenny in the side O'Connell spurns a kick at goal and they mess up the ensuing play.

good man Earls that should shut the begrudgers up. Lovely chip from Hook to set it up.
