Champions Cup - Pool 3, Round 2 (Leicester, Toulon, Scarlets, Ulster)

Most teams will become weaker when a first team player (or in our case multiple) is injured, but when you have the money to convince players to join a club and sit on the bench to come on when needed it makes all the difference..

Completely out played today. Couldn't cope with the breakdown work of Toulon.

Bye bye Ulster... Gotta win the pro 12 now boys, the bottler tag is going to stick.

Great spirit there cmac...

dunno which Toulonais kicked that from the try area but that was the one kick in the entire match to not miss touch...Tommy Bowe counter, go left, boulevards, try. Soft, soft, soft fkng try off a kick not to miss touch by any means. *sigh*
Anyways, awesome from Toulon for a team that didn't have its premier halfbacks. Ulster, brilliant heart but not enough quality on attack. Intensity alone doesn't get tries scored sometimes, not against this Varois defense.

Again will Ulster realise Payne isn't 13. Not saying it's main reason but if he was 15 from start last day and today then they'd possibly have 1 win if not 2. They missed the steel of Henderson but their backrow was very poor and well I just think selections were part of them having a quiet year.

Scarlett gifted a try by Tigers but Priestland given it back with some dreadful kicking....what is it with Welsh goal kickers today?

Is this good for Ulster? I think they can win 3 of last 4 games

Won't make difference none will go through other than Toulon. Ulster won't get a TBP in any of the games just like every other team in the group will not get one.

That was the worse game I have seen in a while Scralets Crap, Ref crapper, Tigers the crapppppeiest.

Scarlets have confirmed their good form and overall ability with a very solid win at home I saw. That match in Mayol, Toulon wasn't a fluke. What a team effort that was, what commitment last week...Scarlets are a very interesting team. Props.

Scarlets were alright that is all.

Just like the Tigers win against Ulster it came down the other team making idiotic match costing mistakes than the other team playing well.

Totally agree - it was a defensive masterclass. For most of the match it looked like there were 20 red shirts on the pitch. It's only the second round, but worth a few quid on Toulon to lift the ***le. Hard to see any team breaking down that defence.

Not if the upper echelons of the IRFU continue to insist on Payne at 13.

[I refuse to believe the coaching staff cannot see Payne at 15 with Cave at 13 results in a much better attacking and defensive backline.]

100% agree with you. I want it of course as in if they play to strengths. Payne is average 13 but world class 15.

ah fk, Romain Taofifenua cited for having defaced Olding in this....minimum 4 weeks suspension. He better not miss the internationals, that would just mean France are cursed, no contest.

TBH I can't believe it wasn't looked at more closely during the game. Both the ref and the commentators seemed to gloss over it by saying he tried to kick the ball. The problem is that the ball wasn't there, his head was. Surely there is a duty of care on the part of the player not to swing a kick at someone's head at the bottom of the ruck?

Anyone know any injuries for Toulon.
