Champions Cup 2019/2020: Pool 2

Weird that it's champions cup week already,

One weekend between pairs of rounds is odd

Will it take someone losing an eye on TV before the dopey fukkwits in charge realise how bad it is?

Then all the fake handwringing will start and the hamfisted efforts to "stamp it out".

About 10 years ago , a young local woman had her eyes ripped out by her fukd up boyfriend.
Anyone caught gouging should be told, in no uncertain terms, their actions aren't far off being as sick/depraved as his. A 6 week ban is a joke..

Entry point for eye gouging should be 52 weeks, not 12!

I agree that in some instances of clear dangerous play - the entry point should be minimum and no reduction possible. But, in others, a reduction for clean record is maybe OK. Like say a mistimed tackle. But a gouge is not a case of bad timing.

Based on the video I saw, calling it gouging seems like a stretch to me. What about it constituted a "gouge"? Low end contact with the eye area looks about right.

I've said before that a minimum ban should be exactly that (in all cases), with longer bans handed out to players with a poor record / who didn't show contrition / who conduct themselves poorly at the hearing. The only reason I can think of for the current systems is that it allows the powers that be to appear to take foul play more seriously than they actually do, given how rare it is for a player to receive the length of ban that someone looking at the list of sanctions would assume that they would.

Hand over the eyes and fingers went digging.

It doesn't take long to do serious damage.

If Chiefs can at least equal Sales points from the 2 games ,and hope LaRochelle haven't surrendered quite yet against Glasgow they would have to be happy.
Not a fan of Whitten on the wing.

Whitten has played their quite abit in the past, wouldnt be my first choice but O Flaherty injured and woodburn just coming back from injuries and cuthbert... i think its the right choice.

Let's see how long O'Gara and Gibbes can hold on to their job

I hate how the "don't play the 9" rule only applies to the guy literally with 9 on his back.
Ashton goes in to play scrumhalf and gets smashed before picking up the ball and they just let it go

Gutted that Dan du Preez is injured and Jean-Luc banned - cause we've got 2x James and 2x Currys out there atm

That would have been contender for try of the season! Happy as a Chiefs fan but damn that try was earned with some great offloading.

Yarde shouts at his teammate when he couldn't offload to him, then he fumbles the ball over the line.

Couldn't happen to a nicer person

"Stuart Hogg who is sadly no longer with us"

I thought he failed a HIA not an RIP

What's happened to Moon's scrummaging? He was never brilliant but he has been pretty poor for more than 1 game now.

15 seconds at that last ruck, told to use it twice
Why have laws if they're not going to be enforced?

Considering how **** we were in the first half to come within a kick is reasonable
