Celtic League Thread 05/06

Well with the small matter of away trips to Ulster and Munster I think it's safe to say that won't be happening plus the prospect of Leinster going to the Arms Park doesn't make their challenge any easier. Can't see it happening to be honest.

HA HA HA HA

I feel that Cardiff can have a good shout at going for the ***le. I feel the sqaud has preformed well with so many injuries.

Anyway good luck to one and all

I can't see Cardiff challenging for the ***le to be honest, though they are playing well. It's one thing to beat the Borders and win a match on 2 interception tries, and another to beat Ulster, Munster and Leinster. To be honest, they're nothing special from what I've seen. They are dependent on dirty play around the the breakdown area. Last week there was countless illegal hands, stamps and what have you. They'll be exposed when the refs start to pick up on this.

From what I here, Munster were at their very best tonight. The Gunner's didn't play badly and the attitude was alot better than it has been, it was just some great Munster play. We've slipped to 5th in the league, our lowest position all year, but with games against Connacht and The Dragons to come I think we're capable of 4th. 2 weeks now untill the Scarlets match, plenty time for the team to work hard and get back to how they were, but as Blackadder said tonight: 'There'll be no quick fix'. We've had the highs, so now we've got to take the lows.

but with games against Connacht and The Dragons to come[/b]

Actually these are your remaining games.

Edit: My mistake  looks like the BBC are wrong!

Edinburgh v Leinster

But I suppose you get a free weekend to come I think?

Yeah I knew we also had the Scarlets and Leinster to play at Murrayfield. I think we've had our free weekends for this year.

Check out Celticleague.com they have the proper standings and who has had their free weekends, I think Ulster have a free weekend which makes them the front runners for the ***le and the Dragons also have one to come which puts them in pole position for the Italian playoff.

I was just reading the Celtic League website and in the rules for the Celtic League it says that each team must have a minimum of ten "sufficiently specialised and experienced Front Row players". Now, on the Scarlets website, they only have six props and two hookers, making a total of eight "sufficiently specialised and experienced Front Row players".

How are they getting past the rule?

The Welsh teams are playing they're games in hand this week, pity it's against themselves! Maybe we should give away 4 tries each in the first 5 minutes then play for real!

Anyway there's a possible 9 points for the Dragons to get on Saturday, what with us playing a game on our free weekend. Plus we've got a game tomorrow v the Blues which could earn us a possible 14 points out of this week!

Should be a great derby tomorrow and tonight with the Scarlets V Ospreys in the battle for West Wales, the only thing that ****** me off is that the Scarlets V Ospreys game is on BBC whereas the Dragons v Blues game is on S4C, if you know anything about Wales you should know that there are a hell of a lot more Welsh speakers in west Wales than here.

Doesn't affect me anyway because I'm going to the Dragons v Blues and can speak Welsh anyway.

Maybe they've registered players from Llanelli and Carmarthen etc. aswell but they're not on the website?

Llanelli, Carmarthen Quins and Llandovery to be correct

That would work, I guess. Speaking of which, I was looking at the Llandovery RFC site and they seem to have more Scarlets players in their side than any other of the Scarlets feeder clubs. Is there something about Llandovery that's better than Llanelli RFC?

I'm sure I read somewhere that Llanelli RFC were going into administration, or liquidation.

Record 15,000 attendance at Ospreys v Scarlets match! It finished Os 25 - 13 Turks

Scarlets getting well and truly dragged into the playoff battle after that result, only a point ahead of the Dragons now.

Scarlets were **** tbh. Too many errors. That defeat in the Powergen Cup really knocked the wind out of our sails.

Nice to see henson back to himself played really well his kicking was world class. i still think matthew j watkins is poo he is crap decision making and just seemed to hide most of the game (except for that interception)
