Celtic League Thread 05/06

Rugby is really neglected here. They'd rather show the SNP party conference than the Scarlets v. Wasps final. I don't know why they don't show highlights at least, of the Celtic League. The BBC has got the rights to do it and there's no Scottish football on it now.

Wales seem's to have alot of sport on telly, maybe thats because half the country can't understand their dramas and soaps.

For the Leinster fans, you can watch the game live on BBC online. Go to the ScumV website. I wish BBC Scotland was as good for sport as BBC Wales is.
Streaming is usually available only within the UK so I doubt we can pick it up but the game's live on Setanta, seems strange though having this game on Good Friday though.

Excellent! I may just watch this tonight.

I hate watching it in real player, the quality is so poor. I watched the powergen in media player, but I can't with this one.

Well at 19-7 down at half time we weren't looking good but that second half performance was a lot better, good bonus point win in the end finished off by Swervin' Girvan.

Yeah I thought that Leinster showed the character that they need if they're to win next weekends semi-final clash. The Scarlets played alot better than I expected, but the turning point was definatley the yellow card. Good match to watch though.

yeah the scarlets played good, and with stephen returning next year, they will most definitely be a side to watch both in the cl and the hec.

We've a lot of work to do on the lineout though especially after the shambles of the first half. Munster would be eating us alive if we start that badly.

I am very thankful of welsh tv as they provide some good rugby, and it was again tonight. Unlike the GP, tries outscored penalties and was great to watch with all the international stars.

This game has also compounded my view on Alix Popham, a player who doesn't think with his brain and should have been sent off for many infringements. A times article showed how he hunts the big hits and has nothing for player safety.

The guy is arrogant and I think BOD was right to ''You've got to be joking'' in his Irish twang. He lost Scarlets the game and should be made to pay, plus Contepomi was excellent.

Scarlets and CL ***le, pffftt.

Hopefully the other Blaney brother will be starting hooker next week so the lineout will improve but it's going to come under even more scrutiny from O'Connell and O'Callaghan next week now.

Yeah he really did blow it for his side. While he is a good player, he has a long way to go before he can be considered one of the best back rows in the NH. One of the major factors his discipline. Also, I've seen him make a couple of strong tackles, but I did laugh when Davies said 'One of his custom big hits'. He's made a few, but there are other back rows who hit harder more often. Definatley one for the future though.

I couldn't believe Popham didn't get sent off for his second high tackle. He really screwed Llanelli over. Even so they were unlucky to come away without a bonus point.

Well when your one point off of a bonus point, you are really unlucky to miss out.

Commentators do hark on when a welsh player does/doesn't do something good,

Take Alix Popham and Barry Davies, the commentators didn't even try to be impartial.

Whoa there boy! Calm it down!

I think that the commentators know what they are talking about, but are really biased at times which can spoil the enjoyment of it for others. Still, they couldn't be any worse than Brain Moore.

yes but its bbc2 wales, so yeah they are going to be biased towards any of the welsh team.
