Celtic League Thread 05/06

Sadly for us, the bulk of our Scottish players play for Scotland so we're nackered.

the likes of Dempsey, Hickie, Kearney, Corrigan, Gleeson, Heaslip all available as well as the legend Conters.
The Irish management have been insisting that kearney has been injured, I think he was on the not considered due to injury list for the 30-man sqaud for the Wales match, slightly bizarre.

well what little chance of him getting into the squad was lost when Hickie was picked ahead of him for the Bath game.

henson will play at fullback

Ospreys: Gavin Henson; Stefan Terblanche, Andrew Bishop, Sonny Parker, Richard Mustoe; Shaun Connor, Jason Spice; Cai Griffiths, Huw Bennett, Andrew Millward, Andrew Newman, Lyndon Bateman, Jonathan Thomas, Richard Pugh, James Bater (capt).
Replacements: Richard Hibbard, Craig Mitchell, Alun-Wyn Jones, Des Dillon, Richard Rees, Adrian Cashmore, Damian Karauna.

Any chance Thomas being moved to centre, with Golden Boy at 15 for the Dublin match?

Also, can anyone inform me why Henson missed Wales training to go on holiday to SA?

its the wru - there a law to there own - im not fussed on the wru management

it was interesting to see gareth jenkins today saying that he would find it very hard to manage wales with the current members of staff at the wru

henson scored 14 pts tonight as the ospreys won 22-18

he did ok - but obivously is extremely rusty.

Edinburgh lost to Ulster tonight. Not a great peformance from either teams tonight, but I can't complain given that was Ulsters first team and we were missing 7 of our regular starters.

Ulster were hell bent on starting fights tonight though, and their number 6 was a dirty sod. I was hoping an Edinburgh player would kick his head in.

No game till the Ospreys in Aprill, and we have to win that.

I panicked a bit when I heard Trimble was playing thinking he might not get a look in next weekend but it makes sense to give him game time considering the amount of time he actually got in the opening 2 matches. How did he look tonight gunner?

He had a quiet game, though he didn't find it that tough cause he was up against Godman who's not a good outside centre.

Well there was no Di Rollo and so we needed an outside centre. Hodge played at 10.

Hodge played well I thought, but Godman isn't strong enough to be a centre. He's far better at 10.

I thought Trimble did well. The Setanta commentators said he was at the centre of everything Ulster did.

It was the first time that Boss has impressed me as a player.
