Brumbies V Chiefs

How did Umaga go? Decided to get in the gym while it was empty, doesn't sound like I missed much :p

Did ok, made some decent yards but dropped off the boil before being subbed!

I actully though Umaga was really good, at least on defence. He three good turn overs, and some pretty important tackles. Certainly didn't look like he didn't belong there. He made two knocks on though, but other than that, not bad.

Agree with Sivivatu. Didn't look like fat though, just bigger. You'll notice that with most Fijian players, they get a lot bigger in their late 20's early 30's, it just means more time in the gym.

Sivivatu looked like he had put some major weight on!

Playing in White always makes you look fatter ... er ... I mean bigger :p

To me, it was a typical first game of the season match with lots of errors on both sides ... both sides will have to improve if they are going to trouble the Warratahs, Reds, Crusaders, Blues, in their local franchises ... the Chiefs need a vast improvement in their forwards, or the Highlanders will give them a lesson in Dunedin next week

well it was brilliant rugby for only about 30mins. Lets hope we can spank Stirling and the Rebels come friday night. Robbie Coleman looked good too...wouldnt say seamless though.

I can't see the Highlanders even coming close, to be honest...

I don't think I have ever seen a teamblow so many tries. Chiefs would have won it easy if they took all their chances.

Only saw the end of the first half and the first 20 min of the second half. So sad to see them 15 points behind. The pass to Nanai williams, not sure if the ball went forward but he deserved that try.
Good to see the boys managed to fight back.

Hopefully they will improve their game. Did record the game so something to watch tomorrow.

Nanai-Williams mixed sublime with frustrating, but showed some pretty nice touches. The Chiefs botched 3 certain tries with bad handling so can feel a little disappointed. I thought Giteau and the Brumbies fullback went well. Sivivatu was definitely looking fat too I reckon.

The young halfback also looked pretty good, he was pretty busy and keen which was good to see. I'd give him a start, Leonard was pedestrian.

If Delaney is fit they need to get him in there ASAP as well.

I'm pretty sure it will be close, If, like I said, the chiefs forwards aren't substantially better ... the Highlanders traditionally lose, but the scores are usually pretty close ... it's a home game for the Highlanders too
