Brits joins Stormers on loan

Personally I don't like it either. I would have gone for junior player Eben Etzebeth or Nizaam Carr even though they haven't been contracted to the Stormers. That said, I do think there is a big difference between getting someone from overseas who has finished their involvement for the season in their particular tournament on board who hasn't been involved with the competition and getting someone from another team in your competition. At the end of the day we have no back-up loose forward and need to get someone from outside or what, forfeit the match? Whether they are from the junior ranks (a S15 final might be putting them in a dangerous position though) or someone with strong ties (played for Stormers, is in CT, Saracens and Stormers have the same owners) to the Stormers, I care little although I do see your point.

Well, if there are NO, NONE, NADA contracted players to replace injured players then fine IMO. Saying the Stormers have been well off RE injuries is a bit of a joke though; name me one other team that have had to have 7, thats right 7 different goal kickers and 6 differents fly halves... you simply can't. Players that have to sit out injured through the season;

Tiaan Liebenberg
CJ van der Linde
Brok Harris
Anton van Zyl
Pieter Louw
Duane Vermeulen
Dewaldt Duvenhage
Peter Grant
Gary van Aswegen
Lionel Cronje
Kurt Coleman
Jaque Fourie
Bryan Habana
Conrad Jantjes

That's just from the top of my head.

First, it's ******** to say there are no possible loose forwards to choose from. The Crusders and the Hurricanes have brough in players from club level. That's what development is for. In terms of injuries to franchises being less than the Stormers, most franchises have had to deal with big injury problems, off the top of my head I can name just as many injured players for three other teams, difference is they haven't recruited players from outside their regions and claimed they didn't have backup. They found backup by less talented players, who are supposed to be avalible to the franchises.

Hurricanes: Hosea Gear, Ma'a Nonu, Conrad Smith, Piri Weepu, Karl Loe, Aaron Cruden, Cory Jane, Jason Eaton, Jeremy Thrush, Rodney So'oialo, Daniel Kirkpatrick and Charlie Ngatai have all missed games through injury throughout the season.

Crusaders: Zac Guildford, Sean Maitland, Richie McCaw, Daniel Carter, Andy Ellis, Kahn Fotuali'i, Sonny Bill Williams, Sam Whitelock, Israel Dagg, Stephen Donald, Adam Whitelock, Tu Umaga-Marshall and Brad Thorn have all missed games through injury.

Chiefs: Sitivini Sivivatu, Mils Muliaina, Lelia Masaga, Tana Umaga, Isaac Ross, Nathan White, Scott Waldrom, Richard Kahui, Mike Delany, Ben Afeaki, Sona Taumololo and Tanerau Latimer have all missed games through injury.

Off the top of my head, there are probably more, and none of them have had to bring in professional players from outside their regions.
