British & Irish Lions vs Japan

Walesonline saying AWJ suspected dislocated shoulder

Tbh I was cooking so didn't see it all, but Sinckler definitely gave away some silly penalties at the end. I still reckon the offside should have been yellow. Japan had a chance for a break and he was running back, so not even debatable if he was onside.
It's just a shame because discipline was such a positive point in the first half. Think he wanted to make an impression, made some good hits but I think those penalties will really have hurt his chances massively.

Plenty to work on but not a bad start. Not sure about VDM, think the small Bok wingers will run circles round him.

Can't think of any voice that sends more chills up the spine than WJ McBride in those highlight clips

Conan apparently had 4 turnovers in the first 21 minutes, presumably counting choke tackles. Was growing into the game with his carrying as well. Great to see.

I was surprised to hear you lot had voted dan biggar as player if the match.

japan just needs a few mire games together, such is their style they need time to gel. If only it was a three match series. Himeno on the bench because he hadnt trained with them didnt help, nor did fukuokas retirement.

I will be the first to admit I never really got the AWJ thing being from outside Wales but when he went off things seemed to lose a spark and then the further injuries and replacements weren't overly exciting me either.

The starting front row looked handy I thought, pleased Sutherland had a good showing and could well be in the mix come tour time I reckon. Lawes doesn't seem to have the same impact of AWJ for me, maybe not quite firing?

Biggar I am not normally a great fan of (I'm Scottish he's Welsh ;) ) but overall thought he had a great game and with Aki and Henshaw think Gregor's more free style was working well. Farrell was invisible for me when he came on, not really convinced 12 is the best all round place for him. VDM looked like he was showing some strain think he has been feeling some of the online comments maybe, still a good tour for him and Price to learn and grow.

Its a bit hard because in that squad AWJ gets his place in the test side without much effort. Lawes has been a long way of his best for sometime now all things being equal he would be 4th choice for England right now. He probably was on the bench over Itoje because he "covers 6" but in reality he wasn't one of the top 3 locks on tour.

However if you drop Hill/Lawes and pick two of (if they were full match fit) Gray/Ryan/Kruis/Launchburry it becomes a lot harder to see (unless your Welsh) how AWJ makes the test side.

It was said about the squad before it has a definite feels that there is a test side and mid-week side and the mid-week players have been picked not based on they should pushing the test players but they won't be so disappointed about not making the test side.

Oh yeah Farrell is complete shite at the moment should be dropped from England let a long being on a Lions tour #brokenrecord

Agree on all but the last bit - really do have a gut feeling Faz is going to have a storming return to form. Not based on anything but a feeling tho!

So we've moved on from outlier view number 1 of Kruis, who's been hitting the sake bars out in Japan for the last year, should've been called up ahead of beard onto now outlier view number 2 that him and Launchbury should've been picked ahead of AWJ. Lol. You couldn't make it up.

Yeah, and it's still a laughable outlier view that only bitter English rugby fans hold. Launchbury. ******* lol. Kruis, yeah, if he hadn't be hitting the sake bars maybe he could've made it on tour to hold the tackle bags and gets the drinks in but test team? Lol.
