Yeah, didn't want to put any spoilers in though if people were watching later. That was no TKO. Ouch!

Yeah proper sparked him out. Looking forward to the 25th of June might even get a PPV

The Greatest Athlete who probably is 1 of few who applied his beliefs to all areas of life. We have alot of guys in sport who thrash talk now but this man was the person to start it all. And he did it in a classy way and there's never been a better man at it. The most iconic but also argubally 1 of most intelligent sports men too.

RIP Champ

If you are old enough, the second Cassius Clay v Sonny Liston fight is one of those historical events like the JFK shooting and the first steps on the moon; you will always remember where you were when you first heard the news. Clay had changed his name to Muhammed Ali by then, but many people, including the media, were still calling him Cassius Clay.

I was not quite 10 years old and I remember it like it was yesterday. It was a Wednesday afternoon in NZ (26 May 1965), and our school had been given the afternoon off to go to Trafalgar Park in Nelson to watch Sheffield United v Blackpool in a Soccer match (the two teams were touring NZ playing exhibition matches)

The ground announcer put the announcement over the PA system that Clay had knocked out Liston in the first round.

That win resulted what is arguably one of the greatest sports photos of all time...

Remember it well especially for the fact that Liston was perceived as being unbeatable only to be faced with the new phenomena of Ali's "dancing feet"!!

Recommended documentary: "Champions Forever". Some fantastic footage and interviews of Ali in his absolute pomp. Sad that only 2 of the 5 are still alive, but apt ***le.

Deontay Wilder now to fight Chris Arreola.

This is why even if I much prefer boxing to the UFC as a sport, boxing's organization has become a joke. by comparison.

Since losing to Stiverne for the ***le, Arreola has beaten a virtual no-name in Kurtis Harper, had a draw with journeymen Fred Kassi (who lost against Mansour, Hughie Furie and Brezeale in his previous four fights), and had a shaky and unimpressive split decision victory over Travis Kauffman (another no-name fighter) overturned because his blood sample contained cannabis (for the second time in his career).

I actually like Chris Arreola - he's very candid in his interviews and seems to be a pretty self-reflective guy. But he's done nothing even close to getting another ***le shot. Seems very interesting how quickly this fight was to get made after it seems Povetkin's subsequent testing showed up clean, while Wilder also launches a law suite to get his money.

Arreola isn't even in the WBA's top 15 rankings!!!

Fury bottles it then.

I'm getting sick of this rematch to be honest. Their last fight was in November. Now a match that was scheduled for 8 months later, which the Fury camp have constantly been up and down on whether it would even happen, is postponed because of an injury. It's a joke. Klitschko may well be 41 years old before the fight even takes place. It's like you either have Deontay Wilder who will fight five opponents who have no place in a heavyweight ***le fight, or Tyson Fury who will now be ridiculously inactive. Then there is Joshua who is technically a heavyweight champion but is still taking learning fights. The heavyweight scene is supposed to be revitalizing into a new 'golden era' but nobody is actually fighting any body else of note.

I was walking through Covent Garden yesterday and managed to see the AJ v Breazeale weigh in.

Need to make a cup of tea, but don't want to miss the Joshua fight.

Eubank Jnr's uppercut is a thing of savage beauty.

Jeeze, do we really need a little documentary as part of his walkout?

MMA is such a better product to watch, boxing is like the American Football of combat sports. So disjointed and drawn out.
