Who you think is the world's best number 8? please vote honestly and not for your national player:cool:

let me know if you think I've forgotten sb

I think it depends on what you look on a number 8. Overall skills is easy as Kieran Read has no competition. Raw power is probably Pierre Spies but he can't tackle and looks lost most of the match. Parisse is an excellent leader but some of his skills are lacking.

I'd go with Kieran Read, not that flashy but with an immense work-rate and I'm still to see him have an off day with the black jersey.

But this doesn't mean I disregard this amazing player of French Rugby Team

Imanol Harinordoquy

You forgot Ben Morgan;)
Seriously, I think Parisse

if we're being completely honest me but sadly im not on the list

who's Kierion Read?

I think Kieran Read has taken over as worlds best 8 by making Spies look average at best over the last couple of years.

I know Parisse is a very good 8, for sure he's been a great player in the Italian side. But Read was NZ's player of the year last year? and I thought he deserved the IRB player of the year award just as much as McCaw did if not more. I honestly think Read has now overtaken McCaw as the most important All Black forward and overall maybe the most reliable player in the All Blacks squad.

Gorgodzee by a mile. next time you should put "other" as an option so i can vote. anyway from the players you selected the best is probably Parisse.

Definitely read! Solid in defense, strong support play, strong ball carrier like a number 8 should be, and complimenting McCaw extremely well in the rucks like a back row should do.

As Italian I can only say........

....Kieran Read.

The best in every aspect of the game and probably the future captain of the All Blacks.

While it's definitely a 2 horse race between Read and Parisse (Spies is all power and speed... Which is great, but frankly doesn't make him the best 8 in the world), in my opinion Parisse edges it.

Read is an absolute work horse in attack and defence, and great for making hard yards + linking play, but Parisse has sublime hands and is at times a one man army in the Italian side. Huge presence in attack, plays first receiver for Italy regularly in open play, a wall in defence..

Oh. And I haven't seen Read do this
