I know this forum hasn't been as alive as I would of liked but, I will continue to keep the discussions going...

So what were your best moments of the Olympics???

Was it the Cuban kicking the Ref in the head??

or was it a memorable sporting moment, like Bolt 3 Golds and 3 World Records, Phelps winning 8 Golds, was it Hoy and his magnificant 3 Golds?

Whatever your nation lets here your Olympics Moments

Bolt's 3 golds and 3 world records feat.

Great Britain's track cycling team.

All of NZ's medalists, 3 golds, 1 silver and 5 bronzes being NZ's best in 20 years.

Chinese underage gymnasts.

Swedish wrestler throwing and rejecting his bronze medal.

Michael Phelps' 8 golds.

I think SA got one silver medal....

Anyway, Bolt has to take it. In the last 100m 4x relay race, as soon as he grabbed the (relay stick/pole/thingie????) and started running the entire world shook i think. He looks like a freaking stem train...

*EDIT* - That dude that snapped his arm with the weight lifting will also stick with me for a while. :/

The Quadrennial Gingergenius Olympic Moments Awards

Best Performance:
GOLD - Usain Bolt (Jamaica) for taking the human race to something almost at its limit in terms of sprinting
SILVER - Michael Phelps (USA) for his 8 Gold medals; plus this medal will stand out in his collection
BRONZE - Kenenisa Bekele (Ethiopia), for being the greatest distance runner in history.

Best British Performance
GOLD - Chris Hoy for being to cycling what Bolt is to athletics
SILVER - Ben Ainslie for proving once more that he is the best sailor in the world.
BRONZE - Christine Ohurogu for that 400m gold, making me scream at the telly as she stormed into the lead.

Biggest Flop
GOLD - a joint medal for the members of the UK, USA and Jamaican women's 4x100m sprint team who threw medals down the drain.
SILVER - Katie Hoff, the American swimmer who was going for all those golds and failed.
BRONZE - Simeon Williamson, the UK sprinter who ran 10.01 at the trials, I tipped him to go sub 10 seconds and his best Beijing time was 10.32

I overachieved hugely but didn't win
GOLD - Natalie du Toit, who didn't have a leg and still managed to come 16th in the 10k swim.
SILVER - Jeanette Kwakye, UK sprinter who ran PBs to make the 100m final.
BRONZE - Lisa Dobriskey, UK 1500m who ran a PB in the final to get 4th.

Best Personality
GOLD - Usain Bolt. Slows down and shows off on way to gold
SILVER - James DeGale (UK boxer). Has the swagger to make it to be a good pro even if he's not quite Naseem Hamed.
BRONZE - Angel Valodia Matos (Cuban taekwondo fighter) for kicking the referee.

Hottest Lady
GOLD - Jade Johnson, UK long jumper
SILVER - Anastasia Lukin, US gymnast
BRONZE - Blanka VlaÅ¡ić, Croatian high jumper

Event That Should Be Kicked Out
GOLD - Anything involving judges' scores. That means Synchronised Swimming, ALL Diving, Gymnastics, Dressage etc.
SILVER - Football. No one cares who wins it. The best players don't turn up. It's a waste of time.
BRONZE - Tennis. Players have 4 major ***les they're desperate to win in a year. Olympic Gold means nothing.

Event That Should be Added
GOLD - Rugby 7s. Provided the best players showed up, (unlike current 7s curcuit).
SILVER - Uzi shooting/ knife fighting. As a way of getting kids off the streets.
BRONZE - Aussie Rules. So certain underachieving countries can have a chance of some more gold medals...

lol good awards.

for me the best moment was boult handing the baton to asafa because he didnt want the glory leg he gave to asafa instead which was really kind.

im still unhappy with gay going out in semis because of his injury :(

The boxing was the obvious Irish highlight.

The real highlight of the games for me was Bolt's 200m, I remember being gobsmacked by Johson's effort in Atlanta thinking I'd never seen this beaten but then Bolt comes up trumps and will find it hard to knock more time off it.

The other highlight was the 100m butterfly, what a finish and superb coverage from Channel 7 with the slo mo to confirm it.

I'm sure there's plenty but the only other one springing to mind is the finish in the men's triathlon, quality stuff.

Wooot..... this gyal was completely off my radar during the olympics. But she might have to get moved into the silver medal position in the Women's Hot Chickathon Event:

For me it was a couple 1st when the Ever-Swindell twins crossed over for New Zealands 1st gold medal because they had a average build up to the olympics and weren't really expected to place anywhere even thou they were previous champs.

But the one I liked the most was Nicholas Willis winning bronze in the 1500m track because you could see was genuinely pleased with his performance and he gutted it out unlike Mahy Drysdale saying he was sick and everyone was expecting gold from him because he's world champ. I thought Mahy and the Nz media should just be happy that he got a bronze and not go on about how he could of got gold but that's why I like Willis bronze because he appreciated it.

BRONZE - Aussie Rules. So certain underachieving countries can have a chance of some more gold medals...

In case you hadn't noticed, the country that you refer to as an "underachiever"has thrash the arse off England in the previous 4 Olympics & the last 4 or more Commonwealth Games, so its no good gloating because you won 5 more gold than Australia, just wait until the Next Commonwealth games and see how we wipe the deck with you lot yet again,...in the last C G we won more medals than england and Canada combined, and them two finished second & third in the medal count...also another whitewash coming up in next years Ashes, and it wont be United Nations celebrating.

ah but we won the ashes and the rugby and 1966 and... and...

chill the **** out, everyone knows australia is an outstanding sporting nation, but you're also mad arrogant so it's nice to large it when we beat you...

anyway, UK wins at history. no debate there.

For me it was the Ever-Swindell's gold medal and Mahe Drysdale's bronze. Pure grit and determination.

Another memorable moment was trying to watch the stream of Moss Burmester's final in P.E and having to rely on nothing more than commentary when the picture froze. Was nerve-wracking stuff, and for a moment there we truly believed he might pull something out of the wood work and beat Phelps, or secure a medal. But alas, fourth place instead.

Bolt just being ridiculously quick.
It was likea super human feat and i just couldn't help but watch the replays over and over again...they guy was so far ahead of everyone else.
Freaky. Must be on the stuff! Must be!
