Beer

Why does everyone hate Guiness? I even know a few Irish lads and they can't stand it... what gives?

I know I can't have the "real thing", but a nice cold bottled Guiness is great. Nothing superb like Nastro Azzuro, Corona etc, but I enjoy drinking it.

I didn't know people actually fasted for Lent.
We did a small study on mexican beers in Germany, and it turns out that while Corona isn't bad (a bit tasteless, but then the lime adds thet little bit of zing), Desperado is better.
Although I'm not sure, Tequila flavoured beer, and I don't think it mentioned Tequila among the ingredients. Plus, does Tequila have a taste?

Both 'mexican beers' were brewed in Europe, I personally find that hilarious xD [/b]

It's just "fresh air beer" without that slice of lime ain't it...I can't believe you drink anything other than Belgian beer. It's fantastic stuff.

I know a few people who are off the alcohol for Lent, probably something to do with it being so soon after New Year....handy excuse for a quick detox.

I was in Germany at the time Stuart :p

And German beers are sometimes good, and sometimes they taste like the stuff my parents allowed me to drink when I was twelve, thing with 1% alcohol in it.

I'm sure you've all seen this one before

I've even seen it in germany, in a place that sold nothing but beer xD

There's a whole set of these. Not just about beer, but in the same style

guiness is a great drink but some say its an aquired taste so keep trying mate!
As for nastro and corona ive always thought they were absolute **** water.

I actually really enjoy Guinness/Kilkenny.

Once bought some grolsch but was kinda dissapointed really, mostly I'll just drink Heineken.

I also like me some ciders from time to time, but I've gotten quite tired of them actually, they were allmost -all- I drank last year, still like foundry quite a lot though.

I like the Guinness best though.

Kilkenny is a bloody fine drop, much better than Guinness in my opinion although I like both.

Yeah I'm a guinness drinker, although not at the moment for obvious reasons, stuff just doesn't taste the same outside of Ireland so best left well enough alone.

Corona is the only beer that is dearer to buy in a shop here than back home, not sure why, it is so good though.

I love Kilkenny its the s**t i cannot wait to get to Adelaide i shall be drinking shitloads of pints of it. B)

The only thing that annoys me about Guinness is that when you get a hefty pint it takes about fifteen minutes to fill.

Also in Australia not a lot of people drink it so you look like a true individual when you come back to the table with your glass full of thick black *****, and people are all like "wowyoudrinkguinnesswhatasexymanbeast" and i'm like "orlyyeahiknow".

Also do you guys do really dark coloured poos after drinking it?

I'm the only one of my mates that drinks Guinness and one of the only people I have ever seen drink it at all around here.

I'd say some of the older blokes would go down to the pub or ex-servies for a lunch time or afternoon pint, but I rarely ever get to see such occurences.

It's actually becoming such a lesser drunk bevarge that some of the new bar chicks don't know how to pour it and then let it settle. When I see them not doing it properly, I complain and they don't f***ing understand why, so they go and get the manager and in the end I get a free pint.
Also because of the lack of people drinking it, its slowing making its way off tap in pubs Australia wide in substitute for a sonic platform thing in which you pour a can of guinness in to the glass, and then put it on top of the sonic thingy, which then gives it it's creamy head.

Dad and I tend to go for a pint before we do the food shopping! Kind of a tradition now lol

Ah but you sit at the bar and when you are about half done you order another one. ;) If not just suffer it its worth it i found although i'm more partial to kilkenny.Ive found that you go to places where they know what there doing if you want kilkenny guiness etc.If not just drink the average lager and save guiness or kilkenny in my case for special occasions when you go to a place where they know what there doing.
