Barbarian FC v British & Irish Lions

Team: 15 Jared Payne 14 Joe Rokocoko 13 Elliot Daly 12 Casey Laulala 11 Takudzwa Ngwenya 10 Nick Evans 9 Dimitri Yachvili 1 Paul James 2 Schalk Brits 3 Martin Castrogiovanni 4 Marco Wentzel 5 Dean Mumm 6 Samu Manoa 7 Sam Jones 8 Sergio Parisse (captain)

Replacements: 16 Leonardo Ghiraldini 17 Duncan Jones 18 Andrea Lo Cicero 19 Jim Hamilton 20 Imanol Harinordoquy 21 Kahn Fotuali'i 22 James Hook 23 Mike Tindall

The Hong Kong player should have been on the bench ahead of Tindall, I thought the whole point of him being in the squad was to get a run out in front of his home crowd so why put in Tindall who looked slow against England?

Bit of a dick move by the Ba Ba's not to give Varty a chance in front of a home crowd. It seems the Hong Kong rugby community is very happy about it.

Not as strong as I expected. Amazed at yachvili over fotuali'i.
As above - expected Varty to feature too.

Isnt it more logical to pick Varty over Tindall from a tactical point of view as well as sentimental reasons? With Hook on the bench he can cover centre and fullback as well as 10 making Tindall a bit useless because he is not what you would call a flying winger...

Tindall to be perfectly honest, is not the type of player the Barbarians should be calling up full stop.

Andrea Masi is with the Barbarians squad and hasn't got in either matchday 23 by the way. He would be another better option than Tindall.

Just to ask have the players like Masi (who haven't played in either game) still got the €30k fee you get for being a Baa Baa

So looks like POC will captain afterall!

The heat has been mentioned a few times over the last few days so it'll be interesting to see how that affects the game we'll perhaps seem subs in early in the second half and the game may break up a lot which will be interesting and probably in favor of the Ba Ba's.

Early forecasts I've looked at suggest temperatures ranging between 30 and 27 degrees C with about 90% humidity.

Rather them than me.

How so? Most of the BaaBaas players are playing in the NH along with the Lions players? In all likelihood the weather would be the the difference in which players can handle the heat better.

Think he means the Baabaa's style. The game breaking up suits their off the cuff style.

.......was Tindall not selected as a coach?

Meh, i think the baabaas broken field play is a bit overrated.
Hogg, Cuthbert and Maitland etc. would love the game to break up too.

Now the sides been announced I really am getting excited for Saturday.

Buzzing now :) Good call making Paylie captain as he's experienced in a situation alot of guys will be nervous over their 1st taste of it. Also great place to get 1st taste. Think our bench in that heat will really be a factor and I presume we won't see Hogg at 10 with Sexton on bench
