I agree that Fisher doesn't offer us anything different so it's hard for us too say yep he will be picked. I just think that if he keeps up playing well then Saxons is on at least then who knows ? He has a very good ability of whenever the ball hits the ground of being the first guy on it.
Maybe. Right now, the list of guys definitely ahead of him goes Robshaw, Wood, Croft, Morgan, Vunipola, Haskell, Kvesic, Fraser (listing them for my own benefit). Those guys will all be in the EPS/Saxons. That leaves 4 places - Ewers looks good for one - Lancaster loves Clark; two places... might make it into the Saxons I guess, thanks to the injury problems at Bath/Wallace's nose dive, but I suspect Gibson and Wray would pip him at the moment. If he keeps performing as well as you've said he has, then maybe he'll make the January squad as an injury replacement. Just my guess though.
Agreed Peat. When we had Johnson, Mo and Kohn the rest of the pack actually could work in being dynamic and really getting around the pack in support of our beautiful backs moves. Now there's no one to do the grunt work and as a result we can't do the dynamic stuff.
I feel like you misread my post. I don't think Quins *need* to bring in guys like the three you mentioned, although it would be a really obvious step. I think they just need more quality full stop. Imagine Quins had Lawes/Launchbury/Haskell instead of Robson/Matthews/Wallace; that's not a big increase in size, but I think the massive increase in quality would see Quins through, providing the back line contained a younger Nick Evans, Monye, and the JTH-Lowe centre partnership of three years ago. I feel that Quins may have a bit of an issue in that I'm guessing Evans is on huge wages and a lot of the guys they've brought through must be on big wages as well; it must impinge recruitment quite a bit. I'm not sure they can spend big atm, although that's utter speculation.
I don't think yarde should be guaranteed his place.
He's been poor for Quins (though their back play in general hasn't been great).
I feel our only winger to look like a genuine try scoring threat since 2011 probably deserves a little leeway, but yeah, no guarantees.
