I can see both sides....the unionist side likes the union (obviously), while the independent side wants to have its own jurisdiction. Surely devo max was (possibly still is?) the way forward as it would appease both sides...the teary eyed unionists get to stay within the UK, while those who want more governance of their own affairs would get their way. We have "devolution" here...but it is all window dressing as Westminster runs the show. If Scots got proper devolution then I think that would satisfy all concerned. The independence Salmond is advocating is a joke I have to say...you cannot share a currency thus be under the thumb of the Bank of England and maintain you are independent.
