Us Samoans are not idiots or morons mate because when you watch the news and you look at whos asking the ABs to come over for a game, its Samoans. You might think Im tryin to speak on behalf of all the Samoans but when you watch the news were all asking for the same thing.

I identified ONE Samoan in Fuimaono-Sapolu, and literally EVERYONE else (of all races) that was saying negative things about NZ in order to put pressure on the NZRFU to play a game in Samoa. A game that will actually LOSE money, in order to placate those who see NZ as somehow OWING the Islands something we don't.

The money argument is so disgusting. I realise it's a necessity for unions whom have a top down model but that doesn't mean its ok or alight.

If the IRB and/or Samoa could offset the costs so that they don't lose money, then there is no excuse imo. Samoa of all t2 nations deserve to play against all top nations home and away.

International should surely be about whether you're good enough, not if you can bring the dosh. How is this any better than some of the evil private owned clubs some of you demonize.

This is probably just a one off anyway...

It may be disgusting to you Welshglory, but the harsh reality is; NZ stands to lose more than it gains from this venture.

Don't get me wrong; in a perfect world we would tour the Islands as much as any other Nation.
But the economic reality is that is not viable.
According to calculations I have heard on the radio etc; the NZRFU stands to lose a minimum of $1M on this match.
That is made up of flights, accommodation, wages for players and non-playing staff and other expenses.
Samoan Rugby really cannot bring much to the table in the way of cost sharing. They are nation where the average wage is $1 NZ an hour. Tickets will have to either be super cheap, or they will be out of reach of the Samoan Fan.
You make the tickets more expensive, then it will only be viable to foreigners/tourists and Samoan dignitaries - exactly what this game is NOT supposed to be about!

The harsh reality is that this game is simply something that the NZRFU can not afford.

We already struggle to keep our top players in NZ. Euro & Japanese Clubs offer far more than we can.
If you want an example of the economic reality in the Southern hemisphere; look at the recent story of Nick Cummins who gave up the Wallaby jersey in order to earn more money for his family (who have health issues)
That is also a reality for NZ players; the money is so much more overseas than what the NZRFU offers. The NZRFU has to be economically savvy in order to keep these players playing in our competitions.

The risk here is that if we lose the top players, our competition suffers, and then the ABs team suffers as a result.
Yes, we always have good players coming through in NZ, but they need to be nurtured alongside established players in order to learn their trade.
We lose that, we lose everything.
The ABs will not maintain their standards without the succession "planning" we have going on now.

Yes hes in a postion where he should becareful but why should we be allow to bag reffs (not that I do that cos thats just stupid) or the IRB and he cant. Ive heard people everywhere do it worse than he does. Kiwi fans I heard were sending Wayne Barnes death threats cos he missed a forward pass.
