I love the people crying about freedom of speech being curtailed. This is from a group who would routinely delete comments and block people who disagreed with them. It seems many people don't understand freedom of speech doesn't mean you can force facebook to let you use it, it just means the government can't prevent you. Even then in many countries there are still limits on what you can say.

Surprisingly firm response from May

23 Russian diplomats expelled, state assets frozen and more to be announced later

Salmond comes out defending RT... Turns out even a chemical attack on England with a highly dangerous nerve agent isn't enough to make him side with England over anyone else.

Trumps national security advisor said:

"Russia is also complicit in [Syrian dictator Bashar] Assad's atrocities,"
"We believe that Russia was responsible for this attack, and we call on the Russian government to answer all questions related to this incident, and to provide full information to the OPCW [Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons]. No nation—Russia, China, or anybody else, any other nation—should be using chemical weapons and nerve agents," McMaster said.

Six hours later he was fired.

Comrade trump is really earning his rubles

fucksake, I mean we knew he was nuts, but he's balls out totally insane! Just no idea how to operate ethically :(

And still some arseholes out there think he is a great guy? This is a full on attempt to purge the US government at all levels of anyone who ever opposes Trump. The American right wing have absolutely zero integrity.

Yeah it is, but its not fair to blame the republican right wing for it. The republican party as an institution has made it clear that it doesnt side with trump

Except they keep siding with him. If they wanted him out he would have been impeached and removed by now.

Not at all. It's a weigh up between putting up with him for a few years and trying to minimize damage before they can get Paul Ryan nominated in 2020 or destroying their party for the foreseeable future.

They do a very good impression of people who will happily stay silent as he rides roughshod over the entire democratic system. Republicans shut down the house investigation into Trump, are trying to shut down the Senate one, have supported him in the media and are not calling out the likes of Fox for their blatant lies and hypocrisy.

In the exact same way as you wouldn't see the Tory heirarchy try and sabotage it's own executive because it didn't like may. There is very little trump can actually do in the next 4 years, then he's gone and we can have a Paul ryan v Clinton race. If the party sabotage their own presidency, then the electorate and others lose all faith in them and people are unlikely to support them in the future.

Politics is about winning; the GOP will side with Trump as long as he is seen as "winning" and dump him as soon as he is a liability to them keeping the White House - even with all the crap that is going on right now. Mid Term election results will be key to see the tide will turn against Trump. I await with baited breath.

What Trump is doing goes way beyond merely being silent because you don't want to rock the boat of your own side, it is being silent in a case where a foreign power may have sway over the most important office in the country, where there is potential for treason, where the credibility of the office and country is being systematically destroyed and where there is reason to believe there is widespread corruption and criminal activities. At some point, if you have any integrity, you must call out people on your own side for wrong doing. Republicans seems unable to do this.
