Jez we are going to need 'A Political Thread, pt 3" soon enough.

I've been too absorbed on US politics, what's the TLDR on Reform atm? I see Farage and Lowe going at it? I mean I love that news but what's going on?

Farage is trying to get of Lowe by taking the whip off him and starting an investigation into bullying which feels like a witch-hunt. Not that I care about Lowe but obviously Farage sees him as a threat. Don't think Ket head Elon helped.

I suspect the allegations are true due to confirmation bias and so many reform people are wrong-uns anyway.

But yeah Farage wouldn't give a **** is Lowe wasn't a threat, there was also a speech where Lowe said the quiet bit out loud.

"If you are here illegally, you should be deported. That has to be the objective. If that results in one million plus deportations being the eventual aim? Then so be it."

I expect @ChicagoKid to give his full backing to Reform to make Britain Great Again.

I was hoping he'd show some mercy and give us low paid Europeans some stock tips so that we too can afford an FT subscription. It's tough times what with defence spending going up and having to fund Donald's second state visit.

Think it all started because Lowe criticised Farage/Reform leadership in the press - basically said he wanted to Reform to evolve into a proper party rather than the protest party it is now, and Farage was surrounding himself with the wrong people (it was around the time Farage was licking Trump's boots over the Ukraine mess)

From what I've read Lowe seems like a vile piece of work but he does seem to be the most...politician? of the lot. Like he understands the processes, the votes, the workload etc. and isn't just shouting **** out like the rest of them - and the rest seemed to take it personally when he said they need to do the same

I know a lot of people from Chicago as my in laws all live there and in my limited experience @ChicagoKid is very much an outlier for that area but I'd be interested in meeting him when I'm next over there later this year. Maybe he can take me to the MAGA hotspots and we'll all have a good time.

I love Chicago and spent a month there in 2023. My only regret was leaving just before St Paddy's day which is meant to be an awesome time to visit when they dye the river green. Much preferred it to NYC and definitely plan to go back soon.
