A Political Thread pt. 2

I posted this because of the laughable paragraph

"The United States and Texas will continue to be at the forefront of global AI innovation, and any CCP-aligned company that tries to undermine that dominance by violating the rights of Texans and illegally undercutting American technology companies will face the full force of the law."

The assumption that only the US can create AI his hilarious, the funniest was the bit about illegally undercutting. Seems Paxton doesn't know what a free market means.

Vance is such a ******. Lecturing Europe on how to get credible mandates from the people has to be a wind up. Four more years of him and Chump pushing their far right agenda to appease MAGA back home with Vance himself no doubt trying to build his brand with MAGA as he fancies a crack at running in 2028.

Anyone else find it miraculous that the illegal immigrants have seemingly stopped eating pets since the orange one took office.

The only thing I find miraculous is that there isn't a single EU/UK/NATO leader that's calling out this bullshit.

Because the USA is still the most powerful nation and has the capacity to inflict the most damage on others (militarily or economically). In terms of sheer economic power, the EU is the closest competitor but is so disunited that it cannot act as a single entity. Nobody wants to be the one to step out of line and potentially face US action without the certainty that others are on board.

That and Europeans leaders for too long have fundamentally been weak and cowardly, constantly overly-afraid of not appearing to push their weight around and collective imperialist/WW2 guilt.

European leaders need to get a ******* grip and stop pretending the world is a nice place where everyone can get along. Just because we have made great strides in that regard within Europe, doesn't mean the rest of the world has and it's time they woke up to that reality. It's also time nationalists woke up to the reality that a united EU speaking with one voice is the only way forward to prevent getting sidelined on the world stage. The EU fragmenting, contrary to popular nationalist belief, doesn't protect sovereignty, it weakens it as you become powerless to take on larger bullies. What use is it saying you can make your own laws if they then get strong armed by foreign powers where you have zero representation?

If the EU was a country with a single economy, government and properly funded military, does anything think the Trump administration would be quite so happy to go out guns blazing or that we would be so afraid to respond? The full weight of the EU against the USA could seriously harm the USA in response, a single EU nation cannot win that battle and instead tries to appease that lunatic.

Europe should know full well how well divide and conquer works, we are now the ones on the receiving end of this tactic. Unfortunately it's working thanks to the useful idiots who seek to splinter everything within Europe.

I can see the EU and NATO disappearing in my life time. Like I said in another thread from a UK perspective we need to look to Scandinavia, the Baltics, Poland and eventually Ukraine for military and strategic unity the EU and particularly Ireland are not interested so we need to move on.

I don't think anyone inside the EU would seriously want closer ties and be seen as one entity only. If anything, they probably want to loosen them a bit so they have a bit more freedom to run things to fit each countries needs.

There is clearly a baiting strategy in play. Musk tried it with Starmer and now Vance with the EU. I guess their hope is for European leaders to bite so that they can go running back to MAGA and claim Europe is anti America blah blah blah to appease their domestic audience/MAGA base. They are also trying to interfere in the upcoming European elections by giving right wing parties a push. The EU is seen as a big economic threat just as China is and so destabilising it seems logical.

EU/UK/NATO leaders are mostly trained diplomats and so in most cases know to keep it buttoned when Trump or Vance say something silly. They also know that the Democrats will win back power one day and so are playing the long game knowing that badly chosen words aren't just aimed at Tangoman but at the office of the POTUS. They are also aware that they have little leverage from a security standpoint. It's basically a choice between America and Russia and deciding who is the least worst option. If only Russia had a decent President who shared our values and respected neighbouring countries' sovereignty then Europe could tell America where to shove it but that's not looking likely. It almost seems like America and Russia are looking for a way to co-exist and screw over all the little guys as much as possible while maintaining power within their own spheres which is their ultimate aim.

One thing is for sure, Europe (the EU and the UK) needs to become self sufficient from a security standpoint over the next decade or so because we are now learning that even it's supposedly closest major ally can't be relied upon.
