Isn't Pelosi only second to Hillary in disliked Democrat top brass?
 
Trump administration saying "peace" in Ukraine is more important than land, ie they are going to tell Ukraine to accept whatever ultimatum Putin gives them.

Republican administrations of the last at least still know who their allies were, Trump is seeking to align with dictatorships over democracies and throw every traditional US ally under the bus.

Europe needs to wise the **** up and realise they can't rely on the USA economically, militarily or diplomatically any more.
 
The pro Trump / far right content has really ramped up this week on my social media feeds. Not unexpected and it's all the usual dross but one thing I've seen repeatedly that I hadn't seen before are attacks on third level education, that its a waste of time and young people shouldn't go even if the opportunity is there.

Has anyone else seen this or know what it's about?

Presuming it's a mix of universities being majority blue leaning, to create distrust of educated people and keep the level of education of their followers down?

I don't think third level education is a necessity but attacking educational institutions is wild to me.
 
Harris called it during the debate. Trump is only interested in serving himself and his billionaire friends and it's now coming to pass. Just wait and see how much interference there is from Musk and the orange one on X when the likes of Macron and other EU leaders are up for re-election.

I'll have you know he is a respectable business man who would never take advantage of poor people. Just look how he funded his legal issues.

Actually, it makes complete sense. Why would you want to educate people who will then realise you're full of BS?
 
It's also a common tech bro outlook. That these skills are readily learnable online and you learn far more when you start actual work. Not understanding third level education shows learning capability and making sure a core skill set is there. As well as covering a broader range of topics than one facet of the subject area.

These people also see no value in arts degrees or less applied science subjects.

Could be but he's got some very choppy waters to navigate through over the next four years. This administration will have firings, falling outs and plenty of drama. If Trump decides to endorse someone else then he's toast.

Politics is fickle now. Labour's honeymoon period is over already after 14 years out of power. Vance will suffer like Harris and be complicit with any perceived failures or blights like Harris was blamed for genocide and inflation even though the VP isn't that powerful. He won't be able to market himself as the change candidate.

Now, its not as simple as that. Taking the elitist few is one of the many reasons the dems failed dismally.

Often there are no value in arts degrees. Far too many people come out saddle with debt and without the employability or skillset to pay it off.

Unless you think there is a need for the UK to churn out many thousands of social anthropology or film studies graduates every year?

Probably the most interesting debate in the UK right now and one that could be on a real knife edge. I support assisted suicided for the terminally ill (its something I want for myself) but fair and reasoned arguments are being made by all sides.
