Up to 1,700 jobs are at risk over the failure to replace EU funds that were lost after Brexit, a consortium of community groups have said.

The ESF Peer Group provides employment support programmes in Northern Ireland.

It was previously funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) but that money has not been fully replaced by the UK's Levelling Up fund.

Reality is for many Conservative MPs they will be out of a job next election. The question is how many. While it seems some are happy to trash the economy to make a profit, many aren't and know they are not in a safe seat. Seems the right wing of the party underestimated just how much backlash there would be.

Also what I find hilarious is they still talk about being fiscally responsible when they did probably the most extreme mini-budget in history after being warned it would be worse for the economy without publishing the forecast reports to support their decision with data. They then refuse to discuss it while the pound tanks and only u-turn when told they will lose the vote. Spend the next weeks still being defiant, give mixed messaging over when the Autumn statement will be and then as was inevitable u-turn again and again.

They have lost all fiscal credibility and are losing what little political credibility they had.

It wouldn't surprise me if Kwarteng resigns or is sacked and the house of cards then starts to fall. I think Sturgeon was harshly criticised for saying she detests the Tories because that is how millions feel and rightly so given their bogus policies and the arrogant behaviour of the likes of Rees Mogg. Tory members are not capable of picking the right leader and the front bench is nothing short of abysmal. Braverman, Rees Mogg, Coffey, Kwarteng and thick Lizz herself - truly awful. I still can't believe Therese Coffey is deputy PM.

So Truss holding a press conference today. Odds on her confirming U turn on corporation tax cuts? Her credibility really will be shot more than it is already.

No doubt she'll spout the same "We're a Government that listens" nonsense.

It seems to be one U turn per week. As soon as she does one U turn pressure grows for the next one. Maybe she should just do them all at once and do a new mini budget.

Guardian reporting CT cut may just rise to a one or two percentage points rather than back to 25%. Still, undermine her's and Kwasi's credibility. If I was was Kwasi, I would resign.

So Kwarteng gets sacked for delivering Truss' flawed Tory leadership contest pledges?
Delivered it flawlessly too. It was exactly what she wanted. Honestly while a few voters may buy it everyone else will surely see through it fir what it is. The desperate act of a desperate PM.
