London
York

Bath

There are loads more. Manchester is great but I'm not sure how a conservative god-fearing American will appreciate the large and very fun gay scene there (not making judgements). It does depend what you're after, history/culture etc etc all 5 places above have both

Bath seems absolutely lovely. I'd love to go to a rugby game there. My wife is an architectural engineer by trade, so we both love a good architectural city.

Also heard good things about York. What about Leicester? It's more of a wealthy area, right? The Cotswold looks lovely, and I can help protest the local council that tried to shutdown Clarkson's farm restaurant.
Leicester is a **** hole don't go anywhere near it

I live in an area that is 90% left, 5% green, and 5% right. I'm pretty used to being in the minority. It does seem like rugby is not big in Manchester metro though.

Sale is a good team but it's Rugby league country there and all along the M62 corridor which is well worth a watch

Must add Football rules the whole of the UK

I heard Cardiff has a ton of panhandlers....
As in beggers?

No more than any other city, infact it's reduced rapidly in the last 12 months, Cardiff city Council have purchased 3 hotel buildings, and taken management of 3 more around the city for emergency and short term housing to vulnerable groups. It's made a big difference on street homelessness, there are a few regular faces around the city centre, but they're harmless on the whole.

There has been a small amount of fake big issue sellers recently, but these never last long, Welsh people are too cheap to but it lol

Cardiff's ok, South Wales in general is very nice just close your eyes driving past Port Tolbert and don't go into the valley's.....
And roll up the windows, Port Talbot is only smellier than it is ugly...

Disagree about the valleys, if you fancy a pint of Bo, a line of coke and a row, Pontypridd on a Wednesday morning is right up there!

Not sure where the stigma for the valleys come from. There's a lot of nice places there. It's got the space and it's not far from decent cities etc.

Mind you, I find that in a lot in places in the UK. It's got a bad reputation (probably from one or two characters/events) but on a normal day it's fine.

I don't know there is some rough areas in the valleys being close to Newport doesn't make that any better

So, if I come over to watch a few games, who is willing to host me?

I promise I'll bring the best beer you have ever tasted, good cigars, and a copy of Capitalism & Freedom.

Didn't think you wanted to come to this impoverished, religion hating **** hole? 😘
