A great big Munster thread

I'm finding it very hard to be optimistic about this season. Jury is still out on Foley as a head coach. I am still bitter about how he got the job. It's great seeing the likes of Bleyendaal and Saili arrive, but with O'Donnell out til the new year at a minimum, and O'Mahony likely out for the whole season, pessimism is rife.

Keep the faith my good man. We will click and be in with a chance.

What's the deal with Mario Sagario? Is he any good? I know Munster are struggling for tightheads right now. While it'd be nice to see a player from a tier 2 nation get a shot, it also gives David Nucifora ammunition if he wants to spread the wealth. Is it good for Irish rugby to have a Uruguayan playing at 3 for Munster when there are three Ireland internationals vying for games at Leinster? That's not a criticism of Munster who are doing what's in their best interests.

Snoop I think it's extreme emergency. I don't know a lot about him and well IRFU are still in talks over type of deal. Leinster probably see it as Ross is only on limited time, Moore is slightly injury prone and Furlong.

For us it's looking like Botha is gone after December, Archer is out for surgery on neck. James Cronin is training to be a TH and John Ryan is like Michael Bent. He can play TH but is a LH

Nucifora or the IRFU should 100% facilitate a move for one of Leinster's top 3 tightheads to Munster, for the good of every party involved. Mike Ross is a Cork man originally, but I'd love to see Moore and Furlong both be first choice for their province heading towards 2019 :) Even then with BJ leaving and Archer having neck surgery It will be good to have Mario around.

Big chance for Nucifora to set a precedent for moving players between provinces when it suits all parties.

I know, it's probably the post RWC gloom!

Anyone else watching the Scarlets vs Munster game?

The referee is absolutely atrocious. Not sure who he is, but he's made some howlers since I've turned out. Baffled how Tom Williams has ended up in the bin.

Yeah I thought the same Thingmubob. Ref wasn't great for either team, but that yellow card was a bit of a joke.

Great win for the Scarlets though. Munster's attack looked very poor and they'll be concerned about that.

One of the most turgid negative displays of rugby I've ever seen. Christ wept what a ****efest from 1-80. Yellow was definitely harsh.

Should have watched the crap that Stade and Racing put on!!

Well whatever about ref. We conceded 2 poor pens in last 90secs to leave it behind. Good few positives though. Chissie was awesome in lineout and settling brilliantly. A sound guy too now he's coming out of shell a bit

He was really well liked and respected at Bayonne!!

Anyone going to Munster and Ulster on Friday in Thomond? Im considering going for sure but the last time I saw Munster and Ulster play it was absolute muck. One of the worst matches Ive seen. Might wait for Leinster to come in December instead and just watch the WC Bronze final play off...

I'll be there. We will hopefully have likes of Zebo and Ryan back. And hey go to all games support the team

I normally do, but I have to fly back to where I live (the continent) the day after... That plus if I want to go Ill have to pay for my partners ticket and train down! Ill probably go though, havent properly followed Munster since this WC started.

Speaking of what has Munsters starting XV generally been the past few weeks?

Conway flying it at 15.
We've rotated a lot and some are taking chances others aren't. Also on side note we may have another Argentinian soon.

We are heading up alright, though if the last night is any reflection might be a long night. Conway was lively though lack of any real heavy penetration very evident, set piece great but.

So sad about Felix Jones. Hope he will not suffer any ill effects in his day to day life.

Absolutely desperate, devastated for him. I used to jokingly give him a bit of stick for being a Leinster reject but in truth had it not been for his injuries in '09 and '11 Rob Kearney would have about 15-20 less Ireland caps. Good luck to him in retirement, he had a very good but underrated career.

Poor bobcat. Always one of my favourite players. His career was always going to end with injury though.
