[2025 Six Nations] England vs France - 08/02/25

Wouldn't get too carried away with that as France were pretty poor but England showed grit to come from behind to find a way to win. That's a very positive sign.

Now just get any premiership 12 to do a job and put M.Smith on the bench rather than 15?

Amazing, ups and downs but no collapse! France left a lot to be desired but finn smith looks the real deal at this level.

Now is this the ireland win from last and we go on to get clapped by all other challenges? Tbf this is very on brand england, 1 score game regardless of oposition (minus japan) you eventually have to win one.

Two Smiths will now be seen as a success any team that doesn't kick long like France and M Smith is under the pump at FB.

I still reckon unless Borthwick looks at other more rounded options your gaining more than you're loosing with M Smith over Steward? Possibly?

F Smith= Test match animal.

Put marcus on the bench as a cover for 10 and 15, saying that I dont think his open play stuff today was at all bad, just his kicking tee.

I'm more encouraged by the last 20. It was a complete 180 from what we've become accustomed to with England in the ascendany.

When are we expecting Fin's voice to break?
Or is he waiting for t'other Fin to start shaving first? Might be waiting a while

Untill furbank comes back I can see this being the way. Personally I would like to see carpenter, de glanville etc... but steve isnt looking at them currently.

Steward had strengths, but we need the second playmaker somewhere.

Furbank when he get's back from injury will be the fullback.
I agree it's just in the interim whether M Smith is persevered with.

I'll eat my words over Tom Curry may not get back to his best. He was a beast, Earl really stepped up too.

It wasn't vintage France but really impressed how the forwards went toe to toe with the much vaunted French pack.
