[2024 Six Nations] Scotland vs England - 24/02/24

They deleted it and reposted it. Comments suggest they missed off Daly.

Honestly i like it,
Genge adds some carrying threat.
Good to see Martin back, him and CCS could come on and step up the physicality.
Furbank is there on form and offers different to Steward, im glad he has a chance to stake a claim.
Lawrence adds some power at 12 and hopefuly can play 12/13 in different plays leading to this being a very strong partnership.
No manu, just because manu is available which is nice.

All in all its a balance attacking lineup that if the backs actually come off the bench all of Spencer, FSmith and IFW have something to offer and deserve some gametime to prove this. Especially the first 2.

Not sure about the selection. Bits I do like and bits I don't. Furbank needs a good performance. I know he's been going well in the premiership, but it seems a strange decision to drop Steward when he's been one of our better players this tournament. If he doesn't then it'll be more of a reflection on Borthwick.

Still don't like the back row balance and with Ritchie and Darge both playing I'm very worried about the breakdown.

Lawrence for Dingwall is an improvement and if he's used properly should improve our attack. Martin back is good.

I'm not worried about the backrow, I don't feel it's been performing as badly people view it.

But like you, bits I like bits I don't.

Ethan roots continuing is odd. Steward dropping out completly also pretty odd. Is Feyi-waboso just going to sit on the bench all tournament?

Haven't seen it mentioned yet and I only just saw that it happened: Jamie George's mum passed away earlier in the week. Gutted for him, she clearly raised a top bloke. I'm sure he's incredibly proud that she got the chance to see him lead his country before she went but will be devastating for him nonetheless.

Best wishes to him and his family. Hope he has a stormer on Saturday.

Overall pretty happy with the squad.

Only grumble would be the selection of Roots.

Steward has been in form this 6 nations, but I don't mind them trying Furbank at all.

Roots reminds me of that Harrison bloke who Stuart Lancaster capped a few times. he was pretty ineffective at international level although a good club player

Not sure Marler had been dropped to the bench. Currently a superior LH to Genge

Why are people so down on Roots? He has played 2 games for England and in one he was man of the match
Shouldn't have been, though, really
And he was completely anonymous in his second cap (barring the PT/yellow)

Wouldn't say I'm necessarily down on him but we've too much talent in the backrow to be happy with "ok"

As their are lots of better players who have shown their worth over a much longer period of time imo. The back row on paper is an area of strength without bringing roots in.
He also doesn't seem to be particularly strong in any given area. Not a massive carrier, tackler, not strong at the breakdown, not particularly quick.
He has been picked because he has very good stats at ruck time which should be a given for his position.
