An enjoyable day of rugby spectating yesterday as a neutral. Hoepfully will be a decent game today and England get a result not taking anything for granted though.

I'd like to see us straighten the play up a lot more today and earn those couple of yards in the contact that brings the momentum that a good side like Ireland seem to do so well. They were excellent yesterday at just finding that gain line edge. A great balance between being punchy and adding width.

Lots of talk after EJ was sacked about 'entertaining' the Twickenham crowd but frankly it's about playing effective rugby rather than anything else- momentum and yards over excessive width IMO. That's where Slade and Lawrence can stamp their mark on this team if they want to nail down their places. A massive opportunity for them IMO.

Make no mistake- if we overcomplicate things today we could lose to an improving Italian side.

It won't be easy by any means this Italian side has a bit of xfactor, there is still probably a reasonable gap but not insurmountable if England under perform and Italy play well, for me England need to just go back to their basics not try anything flash and show considerably more in defence than last week, if that happens it's is hard to see England not winning.
